After a long break we are again accepting clients for all aspects of training. We are again starting to train protection dogs as we have had a demand from people wanting to train their dogs to protect their family. However, we are very strict on what dogs we will train for this type of work. Not every dog will qualify for this type of training. Whatever your training needs, please call.

Every dog is unique, and has it's own personality and temperament. When it comes to animal behavior, you simply can't find another dog training school with more knowledge or a company more dedicated to your dog's success than our school.

It's hard to believe that 40 years have come and gone since I started training dogs. It seems like yesterday when I went to Carl's Drug store to purchase a $2 leash for our Beagle, King. I was 9 years old at the time and even back then, I felt compelled to learn about animals. Growing up watching a TV show called "Run Joe Run", I knew then what I wanted to do.
By not teaching or setting rules, you are contributing to all the problems. Our courses help you understand how to prevent problems by establishing communication with your family pet. At Salvatore Piazza's K-9 Services Unlimited, you will be taught proper use of the leash, how to use your voice, and most of all to treat people with respect.
Training should begin the day you bring your new puppy or dog home. Our training courses are designed to help people understand animal behavior and how to raise a family pet. Sadly, every year so many pets are euthanized because people do not understand that owning a dog is a serious commitment. At K-9 Services Unlimited, Inc. / Piazza's Professional Dog Training School, we teach new dog owners that what happens in the home influences and shapes the behavior of the pup or dog.By not teaching or setting rules, you are contributing to all the problems that may occur without proper training.
In 40 years of instructing, training, and working dogs and handlers, We have come to realize one thing. There is no shortcut when it comes to the art of dog training. We have had many clients who have enrolled in other schools only to find that all they were interested in was the almighty dollar. These schools brag about how nice their recreation room is or how much money the student can make.

I have worked with Sal twice over the years and he helped me and my dogs greatly. In the early 2000s I brought my dog Wynne to him, she was a rescue and had some aggression issues - in particular towards other dogs. He helped me to understand her better and helped her get over her fear and anxiety - all while socializing her and learning basic obedience.

In 2011 I adopted a dog from out of state and had him shipped to New York from down south. I knew he was good with kids, had some aggression issues towards males and was soon to be euthanized if he wasn't adopted. So, I really didn't know what I was getting. When Dooley arrived, I immediately knew I was out of my element. I could barely control him when walking him and he was literally terrified of everything.

I immediately called Sal and explained the situation. On the day I brought Dooley out to Sal to be evaluated he tried to attack a visiting trainer Sal was working with! Sal still calmly evaluated Dooley and we enrolled for training. When I left training Dooley was "bomb proof" and 10+ years later he still is. Sal helped me mold a terrified dog into a calm, self assured, intuitive family dog.

I could not have asked for a better outcome. Dooley reads situations well and will look to me for guidance when he is unsure of how to respond - he truly is the perfect dog and I know a lot of this stems from the time we put in training with Sal. Here we are years later and I can say I don't 100% agree with Sal's view on specific breeds but if we still lived in the area he would have been the first call I made when we chose to add a new dog to the family. Thank you Sal for your help with Wynne and later Dooley, I will ALWAYS stand by you as a trainer.

Very unprofessional and rude (Edit) Thank you owner for your response. You're right, I have never used the services at your school but I am a dog owner in the local market your serve. However for years you have been continuously 'rude and unprofessional' in the respect to encouraging the discrimination of certain breeds. In my opinion, as we're each entitled to, there is no place for a dog trainer in our area who can't even treat animals properly.

As many of your customers stated in previous reviews, your professionalism and short temper are additional reasons people should bring their dogs and money elsewhere. Just leaving an honest review. I was considering using your services until after looking further into your business. I was terrified after realizing how cruel you are as a person and for that reason I will never bring my dog near or around K-9 Services Unlimited.

Critical: Professionalism Just by their responses to negative reviews, you can just *tell* how unprofessional they are. It's amazing to think that claiming each 1 star review (which is the majority, by the way) is a "false" review, is unbelievably and arrogantly naive. People are smarter than that, honey.

I have always been met with professional dedication. My dog started as a puppy and continues to learn. My dog has NEVER been mistreated and I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. My daughter and I chose K-9 Services Unlimited for their professionalism, dedication and training techniques. Don't believe the naysayers. Wannabe trainers are dangerous. Sal Piazza and Jerod are the real deal.

I was trained by Sal And his staff when we got our German Shepard George. It was an hour a week with an hour drive to and from his facility. BEST time I ever spent for my dog. It has been a wonderful experience from day one. Sal and his staff were so respectful of me and my dog. I brought George back for a "refresher course" At no charge. When it comes time for a new member of our family, Sal will be my first call.

I have had dogs for many years, my biggest regret is that I did not have Sal to train all of them. It was a blessing for us and our dog. My advise. Call Sal. Thank You Sal and Your Staff. Julie and Barbara and George.

K-9 Services Unlimited has been in the business longer than I've been alive and came highly recommended as a first-rate trainer and one that's been able to solve all kinds of problems. If you want an expert with decades of knowledge and experience, I, too, recommend K-9 Services Unlimited.

Called about services. Took forever to get a return call. The person on the phone was rude and unprofessional as well as Unknowledgeable. I was looking for a trainer for my nieces dog in that area since I'm too far away to help her personally. We decided to go another route after they refused to answer basic training questions about their methods unless we paid. Well no we aren't going to pay before we find out if you believe in hitting dogs during training.

Do NOT bring your dog to this "trainer" he will steal your money and not help you with your dog. So many other options of actual professional, educated trainers in the area do not go to this scammer. He pushes for people who own pits to euthanize them. He gives actual professionals a bad name. A trainer that is afraid of a dog breed has no business working in this business. This guy is a joke.

I brought my 4 month old lab/husky puppy here for training. I compleated advanced training in 14 weeks and nearly a year later, I can honestly say I am happy with this decision. My dog is respectful of my commands on and off leash and I know I could not have done this training on my own. My dog does not jump on people, is always alert to where I am and what I am doing, and, when on my property, is almost never on a leash because I don't have to fear that he will ignore a command.

This class taught me how to read my dogs body language and how to ensure the continued respect that is needed to maintain a successful partnership with my dog. A lot of politics surround this business right now, however politics aside, they are great trainers and I have, and will continue to, recommend them for anyone serious about training their dog.

When my wife and I trained there back east it was a very pleasant setting. Very professional and treated us like family. Their training is second to none. Sal is in our opinion the top Dog trainer in Central NY. We moved west to get out of the cold years ago but people still say our dog is so obedient. We want to highly recommend K-9 Services Unlimited for any dog training services. Thank you Sal and the staff and K-9 Services Unlimited.
