Services
After 45 years of finding permanent homes for animals in Placer County, we're proud to now have a permanent home of our own. Our new home embodies the best in animal welfare practices. Placer County's dogs are now housed comfortably in habitats, cats enjoy lounging around in spacious condos, and critters roam around in a home-like environment.
The Placer SPCA has officially moved into our new Adoption & Education Center! Don't worry, there's still opportunities for you to leave a lasting mark on our new home by purchasing a personalized brick. Your unique message - in your name, or in honor of a pet, family member or loved one - will line the entry walkway to our new home forever.
The Placer SPCA is excited to offer its Community Room and Catering Kitchen for limited community use. Our Community Room is perfect for business meetings, networking mixers, training sessions, special events and more with ample free parking available on site. For availability or additional information, please call the Development Department at (916) 872-6163.
As a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Placer SPCA relies on the generosity and kindness of supporters like you to help the pets and people of Placer County. Naming opportunities at our new campus are still available, in perpetuity, for gifts ranging from $1,000 to $2,000,000. Options include cat condos, critter habitats, dog habitats, cat habitats, dog adoption wing, and more.

They had puppies, adult dogs, kittens, adult cats and other adoptable pets. However, if you want to meet any of the potential pets, you need to make an appointment to do so. You're there to look through the window to pick one to meet. The price has gone up for adoption as well. Be prepared.

POTENTIAL SCAM WARNING when you schedule for shots or micro chipping, they do NOT inform you BEFORE taking your $$$ that it is non-refundable. So if you have to cancel or reschedule, you are out $$$. It's only in the email, which is the last question they ask. Great business practice, I'm going someplace else!

Although I didn't find a dog, I love this SPCA! It's very clean, no smell, and everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. I adopted my cat from there, and she's wonderful!

We got our dog about 5 months ago, we love her so much. They told us she is a very sweet dog, if it wasn't bcuz they have other dogs at home, they would take her home. It actually turned out she doesn't attack and just making noice. We took her to dog park, we don't worry about her attacking other dogs, we only worry about she love human too much. They called her Helen. she is the best and we love her so much.

Went in to find an adult cat, the staff was very kind and welcoming. Cat specialist was informative on what I should do to adjust my cat into their new home. I ended up adopting Miss Grayson but her new name is Stella. Our bond is amazing and I'm so glad I was able to find her!

It was my first time adopting from a shelter but their facilities are great! Eveything is cleaned and all the animals are so loved while they're there! I went to adopt 1 kitten but I left with 2 kittens! It was great and I felt safe the whole time there!

This is by far the cleanest SPCA I've ever been to. The facility is very new with lots of space. There is glass windows everywhere so you can see all the animals. The staff is very helpful! This SPCA is very unique. Doctors have the capabilities to do some major surgeries here. They also have extra funding to do those surgeries. The facility is also equipped with some advanced medical devices. Check out their website they have pictures and videos of all the pets for adoption.
