What would we, and our furry family member, Odin, do without Shaggy Pines Dog Park?! It is everything we could wish for. Odin needs a LOT of exercise and while we take him on several walks a day, nothing compares to letting him run wild and free off-leash. Shaggy Pines is perfect for both pet and owner - you get a beautiful walk out in nature in all the seasons and your furry friend can run around without you worrying about their safety since it's all fenced in. Odin loves every area of Shaggy and enjoys cooling off in the water during the hot summer days.

We appreciate that with being a private dog park, everyone's safety is considered, both pet and owner, and everyone is attentive to their furry animal and uses proper etiquette. Odin himself is very talkative and it's been a joy seeing him connect and make friends with other dogs who match his energy and personality! Shaggy is worth the monthly membership.

There is the clubhouse, a place to say hello to others, bathe your pet, or grab a beverage, and they have socials and classes throughout the year as well. I also appreciate that with it being private, no one can enter the gate without a key, so the safety element is reassuring when going there alone, especially in the winter when it's dark at 5:00pm! If you're on the fence (no pun intended!) then hop on over and give Shaggy a try, you won't regret it!;)

Shaggy Pines is a great place for you and your dog(s) to socialize and exercise. It has several large fenced in areas with trails that vary in what they offer your dog from a wooded area with a pond to swim in to an area with wood equipment for your dog to climb on and open fields to do a lot of running and fetching. One of these areas is bound to become your dog's favorite!

The staff is responsive and friendly. The clubhouse is a great place to bathe your dogs as well as get some snacks and beverages. In addition, they offer fun events every month to enhance your experience. My friends who have visited with me describe it as a doggy country club. I never joined with my past dogs because I didn't think I would be willing to drive 15-20 min and pay to play with my dog, but it is well-worth the investment. Your dog leaves tired and happy every time!

09-04-2021 visited this absolutely perfect dog park! They have thought of everything. Not just for dogs, but for owners as well. Very well organized. Staff are obviously happy with where they work, they weren't just knowledgeable, extremely friendly. Honestly, it felt like we already had met many times before. Enjoyed the tour. Got introduced, me and my Maive and Maverick, to everyone we came across and their dogs as well.

I love the family feel. We did lots of walking, M&M were able to run free with other polite well mannered dogs in wide open spaces with hills and sand piles and a huge pond that has a fountain and a hose on the side that would spray. There were benches and chairs available, that is where I sat and ate some lunch while they played and explored. We found this one section that was hilly and I just laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky and M&M laid down beside me and we just chilled and cuddled.

When we all decided we needed to head home because we had an hour and twenty minute drive we noticed Shaggy Pines even thought of having a spa section for you to clean your dogs before you take them home. All amenities were available, shampoos, conditioners, soaps, towels, tubs that are very big and deep and up high enough so you don't break your back!

As I was leaving I found out they handed out free popcorn! So I took one for the road! I can not even think of one thing to suggest to make this place better than it already is! I just wish I had one closer to me. I guess my suggestion would have to be "Can you expand your business and open one up in Genesee County?"

Top to bottom best dog park period! It is extremely well managed. We never worry about our dog getting sick or hurt. Staff and Park goers are extremely welcoming and nice. We can't imagine going anywhere else!

Well, I'm not really sure how to review Shaggy Pines. Let's go with a one liner: We could not exist without them. We have a one year old Irish Setter. We go almost every single day. If we do, he's an angel. If we don't. Well, we go almost every single day. They just go so far above and beyond. Our boy has gotten better and better at being social, they throw parties that are a lot of fun, they help train.

This place has just become a huge part of our lives. Especially in 2020, we've just loved being members and loved being able to talk to people we don't know too well about dogs and life. Where else can you meet people safely nowadays? In summary lol. This is our second residence and we love it.

Bringing a 5 month old puppy to ANY dog park can be nerve-racking. But there is no need to be nervous here! Staff was extremely welcoming and the park wasn't too big for my little guy. Awesome swimming area, plenty of shade and great friends to play with. He obviously had a blast.

An access controlled, well-maintained area with 30 or so acres of dog play area including a sand digging pile, a pond, and acres of fields. Onsite self serve dog washing and a shuttle to pick the dogs up from home. Ours just adores it and starts getting excited as soon as he thinks we might be getting ready possibly to go, perhaps.

I am so grateful for SP. Previously, my pup and I had nowhere to run free and play, as we live in the city. Hillcrest dog park was terrible. always an abundance of aggressive dogs, and we have had numerous bad experiences with irresponsible owners and unsocialized dogs. Everyone that brings their dog to Shaggy is great and very attentive to their dogs, friendly dogs, beautiful park, close to the city. It's worth every penny!

This place is definitely dog heaven. Our 1-year old pup had the time of his life tearing around and way more open space to run and play than any dog park I've been to before. When we visited the little pond/sand area wasn't running because it was out of season, but I can only imagine he'll be pumped to play in it this summer. It had been raining quite a bit so it was pretty muddy when we were there, but there are washing stations in the clubhouse area and that was a life-saver. Can't wait to come back!

Essentially a dog country club. Park is off leash, groomed trails in the winter. The park is divided into gated paddocks, so your dog doesn't get too far away. It was 12F when we visited in the winter, but we will be back when it warms up.

My dog absolutely LOVES this place! He's a golden doodle just over a year old, and definitely still has a lot of energy to burn each day- and there is NO better place than here. They for the most part have only nice, clean, well behaved dogs. My dog is able to run freely through their fields that are securely gated and well maintained. In the summer they have a pond that our dog just loves to run into.

If you live around the area and have a puppy/dog, you need to get a membership here at Shaggy Pines. We have been coming here since our dog was a puppy and she still gets sooooo excited every time we bring her here. This park not only gets her to exercise, it also enhances her social skills interacting with other dogs and owners. She loves to make new friends and catch up with the old ones.

The park itself is spacious, all fenced in and well maintained all year round. In the summer time, our dog enjoys the pond and would go for a swim after each lap around the park. Staff at Shaggy Pines are also very friendly and know our dog by name. We highly recommend this park to all the pawrents and dogs in the GR and nearby area!

Huge beautiful park -- about 5 total enclosures on the property. It's so big that it's easy to lose sight of your dog if they're one to explore and run off. My dog had a lot of fun and was super exhausted at the end, and the receptionist was really great in explaining what they offered and showing some of the park off to me. It's so big that it doesn't ever feel crowded or overwhelming with other dogs.

The only frustrating part is that I tried to keep my dog in specific enclosed areas that were smaller than the main trail (she has a high prey drive and enjoys running off to explore more than playing), so that I could let her do that and still keep eyes on her, but twice another member coming into the enclosure would actually let her go through and get into the main park where I was trying not to go, and she'd run off and I had to chase her down to find her.

That was frustrating because I'm not sure why they wouldn't wait until she wasn't next to the gate or simply block her when they were coming in. First time visit is free: make sure to bring your vaccinations records and fecal test proof. After that you can apply for membership or pay $15 per visit.

We stopped here while on a road trip passing through GR, and needed a place for our car-weary pup to play and run off some energy, so we stopped here. As it happens they give you your first visit free to try. After the administrative piece they gave us a run down of what they offered, tested our dog for aggression and let us in the park. I have to say the two people that were working were so kind & helpful! I'm guessing one was the owner.

You can really tell they love dogs and love what they do, and they do it well, especially when you are doing a free trial and not likely going to join (bc we made it clear we were from out of town) but they are still kind, attentive and answered all the questions we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this place, and we will probably plan this as a stop on our future trips through Michigan!

This is THE dog park of dog parks. Me and my poochers (and her boyfriend) tried out this park a few weeks ago on a coupon that we found in a local magazine. My little one was in HEAVEN. The park if sectioned off for different types of dog romping but you have compleate access to the park. Once you enter the park area it is all off- leash playing from there when pleanty of places to play.

My little one had so much fun chasing, and being chased that she slept happily in my lap that night. They do have bathing stations so that you can clean your doggy after their fun time playing. You might want to plan for that because my little white pooch when from white to black. Who cares? She had a BLAST!
