Services
The Yolo County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or YCSPCA, was founded in 1974 by a group of dedicated people committed to improving the lives of animals in our community. Through our adoption program, public education and outreach, and active promotion of the benefits of spaying and neutering, Yolo County SPCA strives to provide a better future for the people and pets in our community. Thanks to the contributions of our members, volunteers, and the public, we can create a more humane tomorrow.
This fund has helped us create many happy endings for foster animals with significant and costly veterinary expenses. This fund provides services such as veterinary care or humane euthanasia for community cats. Financial contributions are frequently made in honor of human family and friends as well as animal companions.
The Yolo County SPCA Thrift Store helps us increase awareness and raise money to fund our animal rescue programs and services. We are fortunate that we receive so many wonderful donations which allows us to bring in new items daily! When you shop at our thrift store, you support a local business and help animals in need in our community.
The Yolo County SPCA operates a spay/neuter transport for residents of Yolo County. Through this program, we pick up cats from locations in Woodland and Davis, transport them to the Sacramento SPCA spay/neuter clinic, and return them to their owners at the end of the day. To schedule an appointment, please contact us by email at spayneuter@yolospca.org.

It's really too messy and disorganized to find much here. Clothes just piled like garbage into bins. It is quite cheap though. I got some cheap pillows and blankets to use as stuffing in a pouf once. Also, you have to schedule an appointment several days ahead of time to donate, even when the workers are obviously not busy. Seems silly.

Great selection and decent prices. I always find what I need here. Girls are lovely. Fun place.

This place has a huge book selection, but it is much more quantity than quality. Still, one could find some treasures if you dig. I found a few good clothing items, but sizing was off. My reason for not giving this place 5 stars was that it is pretty disorganized and seems unclean; I get that it is a thrift store. If you have the time and energy to dig and don't mind a little mess, then this place is worth checking out. It's for a good cause!

I am giving the store a 2 star. My reason -the organization of the store items has become a consumer and safety nightmare. What does that mean. Items are not organized by size. Items have been dumped in piles. Hanging items are not an any particular order. Low hanging signs in the store is another problem. It doesn't have a path clear enough for wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers. I am sad to see this place like a hoarders home. Use to love this place.

Actually inexpensive thrift store prices and friendly employees: I always pop in here when Im nearby. The store always had so many cool things and a huge book collection! Not sure why so many people are giving low ratings due to the organization of the store. Its literally a thrift store lol. Every good thrift store Ive been to is chaotic, the "organized" ones are always overpriced. Definitely recommend checking this place out! Ive found some really cool things here.

Disappointed this place makes donating items so difficult! Unfortunately I am bringing my things elsewhere.

I think I was luck and came on a day where most items were a dollar. I only thought these sort of thrift stored only exist on tiktok. I was pleasantly mistaken. Everything is fairly price, yet a bit disorganized. But that's ok considering the price. The workers are very friendly and fair. This is my favorite thrift spit in davis.

Hostile towards donor. They are always prepared to spit out "No illegal dumping"and will catch any instance to accuse you. They do not accept electronics because "We can not test it and may get sued if we sell malfunction electronics" Jeez who sues a thrift store?

Drive all the way here to find out they have new hours. Don't open until noon. Don't waste your time driving early

Tried to stop by and drop off a SINGLE small box of ladies clothing. Donations were closed (I wouldn't have fought traffic to get there if I'd known) but of course the girl who told me that, had to include a snarky comment. Extremely rude. Not my fault you are understaffed. Do any adults work here? They took my stuff no questions asked, no appointment needed, at Goodwill donation center on 8th street not far away.

The girl couldn't just tell me that donations were closed, she had to make a nasty comment about it, too. It was MAYBE two shoeboxes worth of donations. Where are the adults working here?

To busy and crowded no recognizable sorting system. I found one shoe. And spent the rest of the time lookingfor it. As the whole place was comfortable overall except he costumer service was quite judgemental and that lead me to leave and shop elsewhere

Can't just donate, need to setup an appointment. Unfortunately, I was using a rental truck to move items for the day, wouldn't accept any donations since I didn't have an appt. ended up having to take a bunch of great furniture, skis, etc. and drop it at the dump instead. Quite a bummer.

Very nice prices for most of their items. Sometimes they are a bit thin on selection of stuff. But I still walk out with at least one item. Great cause. Kudos. Nice people there too

I was attended by Jest or Jes. She gave me an outstanding customer service. Jest is a 5 Gold Star Associate. She's a great asset in this important David's Store. Thanks Jest. Jorge.

The third of three thrifts shops in Davis. SPCA is the least expensive. The vibe is variable. Sometimes it is upbeat and eager to earn money for its charitable work. At other times it is as if the customer is being done a favor to be allowed in the shop. The staff are the same. Many are courteous, friendly and eager to be of help. Others can hardly be bothered to acknowledge the presence of a customer. Some are worse. Overall it is worth the occasional look see.

Was pleasantly surprised by my thrift finds here! Store appears to be small from the street but I managed to fill my car with a bench, a small chair, decor and on the day we were there all clothing items were 1$. I will definitely be back for more treasure hunting!

The midtown location was much better. The racks tight and awkward to look through. The sizes are not sorted but gender and children are separated. I found one top and that's not the usual for me.

I am always pleasantly surprised every time I stop by the SPCA. While it is small and often jammed pack with a lot of items, I always seem to walk away with a real find when I take the time to dig. Super often this ends up being clothing, but I've also picked up some vintage sci fi books and cute little nicknack chickens (two things I'm always on the lookout for, for some reason).

And the best part is the prices are almost always ridiculously cheap. So even though every visit only amounts to one or two things I deem worth buying, I'm always happy I ended up stopping by. And to top it all off all the SPCA staff I've interacted with have been very kind and extremely helpful. Overall I am very excited to continue supporting the Yolo County SPCA!

Great deals to be found if you can consistently check back. I have found several manual watches for very cheap, and a lot of electronics (might have to check their satellite building down the street) for reasonable. If you are a student, this place is invaluable for finding all of the basics you need for your apartment.

Great location in Davis for a thrift store. We have been to Davis so many times and we kept passing by this place. So now it was the time to stop by and browse. To our liking they had Shopping flow traffic in place along with social distances practices. Clothes were outside to allow greater space for people to roam about.

I love thrift stores. Last time I was there it looked like someone had taken an interest in display. It was nice to look at and the vibe was happy and "thrifty ".

Pros: benefits SPCA, found some really great items. They were also nice & picked up our donation couches for us (you have to call & schedule a pick up for when a staff member is free) Cons: relatively small size, some items are overpriced (some of the art work is $50+). Would probably get better profits overall if they priced things a bit cheaper and had a lot more sales. Also, tried to donate some items one time and a brand new coffee maker in the box was outright rejected bc they get so many (& maybe it was bc they got so many donations after Marie Kondo came out on Netflix?).

So be aware that they are somewhat selective in donation acceptance. But do try to donate to SPCA first instead of Goodwill or for-profit thrift stores that leave out donation bins while pretending to be non-profit.

This was once our favorite thrift store to shop at when we came to Davis. It was nicely organized, but it seems to be under new management and is not as well organized and the prices on some items are ridiculously high for a thrift store. I do want to say that staff is always so friendly and helpful so we do venture here from out of town because of that on occasion. Really should bring back the person who managed it before.

Friendly thrift store to shop at. They had great deals when I came here last week and clothing was $2! Awesome! They had a lot of furniture and bicycles in the front and I believe there was a back section for home goods. I didn't get to look at everything but there were some good finds! I love that it goes to a good cause. The only sucky part were these shoppers in the store that were super rude and such a bullies when we went in and cut in line. Too bad they don't have security guards LOL
