It is our mission to provide the highest quality veterinary medical care possible to the pets and members of our community. We are determined to offer these services with the latest available knowledge and technology combined with compassion and empathy for the pets entrusted to our care. We strive to maintain an environment of teaching and learning within our organization.
When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. We at Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have a state-of-the-art veterinary facility that is clean, comfortable, and efficient.
In order to maintain our high standard of service, we require that payment be made at the time services are rendered. We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges. Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital is happy to accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Care Credit), checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
One important key to long-term pet health is regular vaccinations against a number of diseases that can affect your dog's well being. We recommend that this vaccination be started at 8 weeks of age followed by two boosters given 3-4 weeks apart. If a pet is 12 weeks or older, the pet would get an initial vaccination followed by one booster in 3-4 weeks.

Three hour wait to drop off pet, while waiting in the car, is unacceptable. I've seen all the veterinarians here. They aren't the problem.

Wow! Such great service. Friendly, professional, reasonably priced compared to our previous vet. I could not be happier and they treated my dog great.

I can understand using a new system and having training challenges. There is now a phone based system which seems like a good idea too. My issue? I paid $187 for services for my pet with no diagnosis or report of status listed on the receipt. I have no idea of any of the test results for my records and this leaves me a little preturbed. It would be great if there was information attached to my receipt and any follow up provided if necessary or not. This new phone service could also be beneficial in setting future appointments and accessing pet records.

Staff is super busy and now a new system that is texts or email for your appt. They are pricey but in east Texas anything in Calif is pricey. I really like the staff they call and update me on my pets and never get upset with me calling to check. my motto is YOU get what you pay for and I am willing to pay for the health and safety of my animals

Our family appreciates the good communication that seems to be a high priority for this office. Our dog was recently in for surgery and we received frequent updates on his condition from both the vet and the techs. We're grateful for the good care they provided!

Friendly vets, but. 1. Appt process was strange after waiting 2 weeks I was greeted by you don't need an appt! 2. My appt for an estimate got me a $80 bill. I already knew what my pet needed. Waste of money. 3. I asked to speak with the manager to provide feedback and she supposedly was too busy and would call me back. The manager did NOT call me back.

Very unprofessional, somewhat rude staff and chaotic billing department By the way the teeth cleaning estimate ~$700. But be advised an appt to give u that estimate is $80 which the office will surprise you with. Ridiculous.

Dr. Ditmyer was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, kind and caring. We had about a 20 min phone call after she had done blood work on my cat, (this was a day-of walk in, so it was just drop off and pick up and not a face-to-face appointment) and she didn't act in a rush at all even though I know she was busy. She took the time to answer my questions and thoroughly explain the topic we were discussing. Shelby, the vet-tech who I spoke with on the phone before coming in, was incredible and such a caring woman who is a relief to speak with when you are concerned your pet is facing a life threatening emergency!

Five stars to her! Kind and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that the receptionist who first answered my call (Ms. P) seemed cold and not the least bit comforting or compassionate :( Which are both traits I think very important when working with owners of beloved pets who are unwell. I think Taylor is who handled my payment at the end and she was awesome

Over priced. Would only take my pet here for shots, that's about it. Every experience here has been awful. Ranging from routine care to urgent, this hospital definitely isn't one on my top 10. I recommend anyone who has anything other than a routine appointment to seek care elsewhere. Pinnacle Vet in Santa Clarita, or the clinic in Rosamond with Dr. Darrow.

Not great at all. I Recommend any other very if possible. The staff was rude upon check in. There are no signs telling you to wait outside just one that says wear a mask when you come in. They get very mad if you follow the posted signs and go in. I called to see what the policy was out of I could have someone meet me outside or if they had masks because I lost mine.

She answered, said she would explain how it worked, put me on hold for over 5 minutes, only to tell me someone meets me at the door and we aren't allowed in. She was rude when getting my information to check my pet in. Then the wait was extremely long to get them picked up. The younger gentlemen who came to get my pet was very nice though. it was several hours to get a prescription refill because they " needed to do more blood work" for a 15 yr old pet, clearly with bad arthritis who just needed a refill.

When I came back 5 minutes after they said my pet would be ready, she was rude checking me in again, then told me the next available person wouldn't bring out my pet and their meds. I waited over an hour. Very rude and unprofessional for the most part. 2 stars only for that guy who was great with the pets.

They have always treated me great. I spent a lot of time there recently, dealing with end of life care for my puppy, and saw how many people are impatient, ungrateful, and rude, and they never once showed anything but understanding and compassion to anyone. They took care of my baby, and took the time to explain, and comfort me, for the decisions I needed to make. Their love and compassion for their patients was impossible to miss. Thank you.

We were clients for 10 years, which they don't seem to care about. Tried to make an appointment to spay our dog for the last 2 months. Every time we call they say they booked and to call at the beginning of the next month. We did that and we were told again they are booked for the following month.how do you get an appointment then? So much for customer loyalty. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Not only did the vet take good care of my dog's health, the techs were amazing enough to give her a much needed brushing of her coat. The people who work here really care about animals and it shows in the quality of care that the pets receive!

Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital takes great care of my boy, Angus. Angus is my Service Dog, trained for mobility and seizure response. I rely on him daily and if he's not healthy, my own health is affected. Recently, Angus got very sick. I took him into Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital and they took care of him right away. I am so thankful to all the vets and staff that have taken such good care of my boy and got him back to work quickly.

We love their Saturday clinic, so efficient, and the fact that they do take drop offs in the morning on any day is amazing. I highly recommend this vet, and so glad that we chose them to care for our babies (we have other dogs as well). Thanks Tehachapi Vet, Angus and I thank you!

Great pet hospital. I bring my cat and dog here and they are always great with them. I don't carry pet insurance and their prices are very reasonable. I trust them completely with the health of my pets. Even with covid the wait times aren't terrible. And when it's going to take awhile they tell you that you can go home or run errands and they will call you when they are done. Very respectful and cheerful staff. Love this place.
