The health of your pet is not something to take for granted. Even the healthiest animals can become ill or wounded, and if this happens, you may need to seek medical help to get your pet back on its feet. Veterinary science advancements have made it easier for animals to receive treatment, yet it can. From my safari jeep in South Africa's Kruger National Park, binoculars aren't necessary to spot the long, sleek neck of a giraffe through the treetops in the distant bush. The world's tallest mammal - standing between 14ft and 19ft - is impossible to miss, but somehow it has quietly moved towards extinction without warning.

The place is pretty clean and neat. It's also nice how everything is sectioned off. Some of the staff were a little bit harsh though. I broke some rules unknowingly(I thought after we got a staff member to help us look at an animal, we could continue to look at other animals unaided. I was also not made aware the first animal I looked at that we are only allowed to look at 3 animals) and I felt like the staff got angry with me.

I apologized for breaking the rules. It felt like they were watching me and whispering to each other about me. I felt very uncomfortable after awhile so I took pictures of the cats I was interested in, got a little more info about them at the front desk, and left. I have about four cats and kittens in mind that I wanted to continue seeing and interacting with at a later date once everyone was seen by a vet, but I don't think I'll be back. I've never had this experience before.

The staff and volunteers of HSHV provide exemplary kind and compassionate care for any animal who comes into the shelter. Adoptions are carefully managed to ensure good matches that will last for the animal's lifetime. The services available at the shelter to support adoptions are affordable and the physical plant is as close to immaculate as a shelter can be. If you are looking to adopt an animal into your family, this is the place to come to first.

We found one of the loves of our lives here. Named Natasha at the time, Snips has become so important to my girlfriend and I. We are so thankful for HSHV for being so kind and helpful from the moment we walked through their doors. 1 and half, and we love our fur baby.

I love the location and it's super affordable it's really clean and the staff is wonderful unfortunately my dog is super angry at the vet and nobody could understand when I was telling them he would need to be sedated before going in there. Obviously the dog doesn't like the vet which is the reason I accompany the dog to the vet I understand the COVID-19 protocols.

I thought they could handle it. But they definitely couldn't. Even when I was there in person supervising They had great difficulty. I wish they went back to normal I miss the old days when I can get my dog the care he needs.

This was my first time adopting an animal. I was turned onto Huron Valley Humane Society from a friend and I could not be happier about how easy and painless the process was. My new cat is in great health. I love the care and attention they give to all their animals as well as the patrons!

1hr drive to get to the facility for me but very well worth it! The facility is very nice and clean. Staff very friendly and informative. Dogs all seem to be well cared for. They have a little walking park out back that allowed us to walk and visit with our perspective new family member. I am so happy that we got our sweet girl here! They stay in contact and give tips and apps to help assist in the care of our new pup! I would definitely recommend getting your next pet here!

Humane Society is claiming to be Fear Free Certified but clearly doesn't practice it. Here is Badge 108 who works for the Animal Control Unit. Please ask them why this person continues to work for them as they are not doing what they are trained to. I'm more disturbed that other people who are also trained just stood there and let it happen.

We adopted the newest member of our family a couple of days ago. From the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out with her it was an excellent experience. The staff are all welcoming, attentive, and very helpful. The facility was very clean and all the animals were obviously well taken care of. The adoption process was very easy and went smoothly.

They manage to make the process quick while still making sure animals are being adopted by the right humans. They are good at what they do. We couldn't be happier with the HSHV or with our newest addition to the family.

A wonderful place for animals in need! Their staff is so caring and compassionate! We've adopted 3 pets over 4 decades! Every time we visit all animals are well taken care of in clean enclosures.

Had an excellent experience with HSHV. The staff was very friendly and informative. The kennels are kept clean and there's no smell. We adopted a Lab Retriever mix from the Love Train. Her name was Psi and we changed it to Daisy. We've had her about 3 days and she's a smart cookie for only 2 months old. Daisy knew her pottie pad the first night we got her. I wanted another lab because I had to put my 15 year old lab down in 2020. She was amazing! Labs are very loving loyal dogs.
