Therapetics Service Dogs Therapetics is a Tulsa based non-profit that also serves the greater Oklahoma area. We focus on training Mobility and PTSD service dogs for individuals living with disabilities. We train in a variety of locations to provide our dogs with a wide range of experiences, so they may better serve our clients. Our Mobility Assistance Service Dogs are trained to perform tasks that help with everyday chores that are made difficult by limited mobility. Tasks would include opening doors, carrying a bag, picking up dropped objects or emptying the dryer.

Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Service Dogs are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person's disability. Security and the crime deterrent effects of an animals presence and the provision of emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship do not constitute recognized work or tasks of a service animal.Public Access granted to individuals training a Service Dog varies from state to state.
Therapetics Service Dogs of Oklahoma has been successfully placing service dogs with Oklahomans in need since 1992 due tot he dedication of many volunteers, including our trainers, staff, and Board of Directors. Most importantly, Therapetics is a continued success due to the fabulous dogs we are able to train thanks to the generosity of individual donors, breeding kennels, and rescue groups. Take a moment to meet the people and canines that make Therapetics great!
Therapetics trains Service Dogs to assist with mobility issues and clients with military and first responder related PTSD. We do not train dogs to assist with seizures, autism, diabetes, blindness, deafness, or emotional support (as a primary condition). Please note our current waitlist is 2-3 years.
Volunteers are the heart of Therapetics! We rely on their enthusiastic participation in a number of areas - including service dog training, dog sitting, assistance with special events and fund raising, washing dogs, administrative duties and community awareness.

Something about the company is just #1 they don't have Respect for your trainers that take their own time and hard work to make sure these dogs are well trained #2 they aren't responsible for their own training dogs, they will not cover costs for any damages their training dogs make #3 they don't give you the freedom to train the dog, if you train for them get ready to have a lot of boundaries and they pick what tools you can or cannot use on the dog #4 they pick and choose their favorite trainers, if your not one of those get ready for the hate I could say more but I think this is enough to prove my point

Been the staff photographer for a little over a month and I'm very passionate about this organization. They do great work and everyone (dogs & their trainers) are so amazing.
