Therapy Dogs United is a 501(c)3 public charity founded in 2008. We are a grassroots organization, meaning - TDU is not tied to a national therapy dog organization. Our visitation and research-based programs are scheduled as a group or individual session. All therapeutic or animal-assisted therapy dog visits are made by a certified therapy dog team registered and certified by our nonprofit agency.
Our mission is to allow the presence of a certified therapy dog to enhance and enrich the lives of our clients by inspiring physical and emotional healing through the use of interactive animal-assisted therapy and human education. At Therapy Dogs United, we have a proven track record of success. Every volunteer representing Therapy Dogs United is personally committed to ensure your visit is pleasant, relaxing and memorable.
In times when comfort and hope is needed, a therapy dog provides a gentle paw to remind us that "you are not alone.". At Therapy Dogs United, our therapy dog teams are personally committed to bring joy and inspiration to every human life we touch. We truly believe in the power of the paw! A session with a certified therapy dog is the catalyst for positive change.
Skilled Support dogs enhance the quality of life and education for children, adults and older adults with disabilities and/or special needs. A Skilled Support dog is used to assist an individual better manage their daily tasks. These specially trained therapy dogs provide unconditional love and companionship by working hand-in-hand with a licensed therapist, counselor, guidance counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist, physiotherapist or rehabilitation therapist; as well as the dog's certified handler.
