Services
Dr. Karen Hale-Young purchased the clinic from Dr. King in 1987 and Town and Country Animal Hospital has now grown into a multiple doctor, full-service facility offering the most progressive and up-to-date treatment for dogs, cats and exotic pets throughout Salina and the surrounding communities. Your pet's health and well being is very important to us and we take every step to give your pet the best possible care including nutrition and preventative health care.Fear Free was designed to ease the stress, fear, and anxiety that many pets, and in turn, their humans experience while visiting the veterinarian.
Here at Town and Country Animal Hospital we have very compassionate Veterinarians to provide your pet with the best medical care, we also have our knowledgeable receptionists, caring veterinary technicians and assistants, a very talented groomer and attentive animal care assistants. All of our staff has been trained in Fear Free, everyone here is dedicated to making your companion pet feel comfortable during their visit here and help you, the pet owner, understand your pet and preventative health care medicine.
Comprehensive physical wellness examinations for your dog or cat are the center of preventive health care and are recommended annually. These wellness exams allow our veterinarians to evaluate your pet's immediate health care needs. Once your pet reaches senior age (about 7 years for dogs and cats) or gets diagnosed with a medical condition we may recommend more frequent exams.
Young animals are like kids-it's a never-ending job to keep them safe and happy. Vaccinating your pet is a relatively inexpensive but very important way to protect his or her health. In addition to preventing many life-threatening illnesses, vaccinations can prevent diseases prevalent in wildlife and those that can be passed to humans.

If you want to overspend on pet care and not get great service, this is your place! We only needed a flu shot to board our dogs with them, as we found a cheaper place to get the rest of the shots done, and they did a whole exam costing $88 per dog, when we went to pick up our dogs we were expecting to pay about $180 (per the quote we were given prior to drop off) for the weekend and ended up with a $360 bill.

Our dogs were very dehydrated and stressed out when we picked them up which has never happened at other kennels before. This isn't our first bad experience, we've had times where we needed emergency stitches done and they refused to see us because their doctors didn't want to stay past closing, even though we have been clients there for 2 years. They are not flexible, pushy on their expensive yearly vaccines, and very hard to get ahold of.

Was very disappointed. Took my feline in for a vomiting issue as could not get into my regular vet and was told needed to run test and almost 400 dollars later was given a supposed clean bill of health. Issue persisted and took to my regular vet and found out he had severe kidney failure and was end of life. To top it off get a call to schedule shots and check up for my best friend who I lost. Very poor experience.

Very nice, new building. They got my cat seen within 24 hrs which was amazing since I hadn't been there for 2 years. The doctor was kind, informative and gentle with my cat. The front office staff were helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend Town & Country for your animal needs!

Called about my fur baby having possible kennel cough from the animal shelter. They told me fee's but they failed to tell me that you have to have an appointment. AND then they would do curb side service . I left work went there to find I could not be seen and appointment was made. I needed my fur baby seen right away. Or so I thought. I ended up buying this cough formula off chewy and it took care of the problem. Saved over 100 dollars. The ladies was polite though.

My dogs are not social pups. They are protective of their family and territory. The staff were calm and very positive while caring for my fur baby. The doctor was very informative, and explained his findings and concerns. I have always had good care for my fur babies by the staff. Thank you!

I really like how they treated my 8 year old rabbit. She's my baby and I treat her like a baby. Bunnies are very delicate specially at this age I really liked how the vet tech held her. They answered my long list of questions. I have been to three other vets and did not like the three of them how they handled her and their lack of knowledge on rabbits even after I asked several times if they did treat rabbits.

I also really liked how they asked me about my price options before they wen ahead and prescribed something ( that to me is very thoughtful) my precious vets would just charge me without me knowing what for. And the price was amazing I have never paid less than 100 bucks on a vet visit for my princess thank you very much.
