Wagwear In 1996, Amy Harlow adopted six week-old twin Shiba Inus, Lucy and Tonto, and quickly discovered how difficult it was to find cool, classic, quality products for dogs that were both fun and functional. With her education in fashion and a successful career in modeling, Amy brought her expertise from the catwalk to the dog park and the wagwear brand was born.

Founded in 1998, wagwear offers puppy chic in the latest colors and trends with fully-functional details such as reflective tape in the leashes and coats, materials such as oil cloth, canvas and climbing rope, and overall classic design one might find on the beaches of Cape Cod or the streets of Soho the same weekend.

We've tried a handful of booties and the WagWellies were the easiest to use by far. You have to make sure the velcro is super snug or they will fall off if snow collects in it.

Schatzie, my mini-wire haired dachshund, is absolutely crazy for her canvas carriers. If she sees us going someplace, she won't calm down until she see her security bag. She loves it. She'll sit in it and wait for hours if need be. I have three of them and couldn't be happier with the quality and style. As far as durability - they're over eleven years old and they've been washed and are no worse for wear. I love them.

I ordered the wrong size bag a few days before our vacation. Vivian was so helpful! She rushed the correct size bag just in time for our adventures. Thank you so much Wagwear!

If you see this message, RUN AWAY! This brand is so arrogant and never care about customers' feeling. My dog's dewclaw was BROKEN and BLOODED 5 mins after trying on these boots! However, they ignored my email twice and refused to answer any questions so far. For your furbaby's health, STAW AWAY from this brand! *Updated: I left a message under their ins, 30mins later I found they delete that comment and blocked me out! See this is their way of communication: Ban customers instead of responding in a polite way.

Whoever is in charge of staffing really needs to reconsider how they select their team. My fiance and I walked in to purchase booties and other things for our dog. The sales associate had no interest in us and provided zero guidance on how to correctly put the booties on. Barely acknowledge us. Meanwhile, when another customer walked in, the sales rep was more than happy to tend to her.

We love our dog and spoil her rotten and spend $$$$$$$ on her. We were so excited to shop here but will most definitely not be supporting this store. There's at least one other negative review on here, that I've read. A customer who was handed the wrong size harness at check-out and was later turned away 15 minutes before closing. I wish I had read it before wasting my time here.

My Brittany dog, Bonnie is pear shaped. It's cute but finding clothes for her can be difficult. She's a large in width but medium in height and length. Wagwear is where it's at for dogs like her. It's a cute shop with several sizes and fits of coats or sweaters. The sweaters look beautiful with cable knit designs in all sorts of colors.

But I was shopping for a winter coat for Bonnie. The saleswoman was amazing at finding the perfect coat. We tried a few coats in different sizes and the saleswoman considered not only the best size but my dogs comfort. It's a bit pricey as the coat I chose for Bonnie was 75 but it will last many cold winters. It's worth her comfort!

Small boutique filled with the best functional and / or fun items for your dog. It's our fave place for classic, elegant dog items - no paw printed or bedazzled textiles, thank goodness. Cooper only knows a WW harness and leash. Highly highly recommend.

CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE I do my best to avoid writing negative reviews, but the customer service in this store is ridiculous. I arrived half an hour before closing to purchase a harness for my dog. I quickly figured out the correct size and purchased the harness (in and out within 5-10 minutes). I felt extremely rushed since there was another person waiting to come in, and even upon inquiring about additional items I still felt like I just needed to pay and leave.

I exited the store and quickly realized the associate had given me the incorrect size harness. I was still outside so I got her attention to see if there was one in the correct size. Before I even had a chance to say anything the associate proceeded to tell me they were about to close and I needed to come back tomorrow. At this time it was still 15 minutes before close.

When I continued to ask my question she told me I needed to come back tomorrow and then she would refund me. It just seems insane to me that as a customer who received the incorrect item and immediately noticed that I am still being turned away. I do not have the luxury of just coming back whenever is convenient for them. I love the products that I have purchased from wag wear in the past, but the customer service is too atrocious for me to continue shopping here.

I have been shopping at wagwear's flagship store in New York City since they opened. I wish there more than 5 stars to give a review about this line of super groovy fashionable dog wear. It's stellar creative products, (Made in the USA) the unique stores, the staff and of course how happy my dogs and my friends dogs have been over the years that make wagwear a very special mom and pop store for our pups.

I have also shopped at their Woodstock NY store. The customer service (and the mascot Edison the lovely dog) was fantastic. They helped me with all my needs. If you are looking for a special shopping experience for your furry family member - wagwear is the place.

I really really wanted to love this store as I've placed multiple orders online via the webstore. The store is beautiful, clean, and I loved the selection. The customer service was absolutely horrid. I'm not sure if one of the girls in the back who was in direct sight even worked there or if she was just visiting her friend who did in fact work there. Either way, I had better help reading reviews on the bags and clothing online. Saving myself a trip to the store and just ordering online - ty free shipping.

I truly do not enjoy giving a negative review. Especially during a time when Small Business could use all the support and positive praise. I Received a jacket and sweater as a gift for my new pup purchased from Wagwear. Unfortunately the sweater did not fit my pup. Tags still intact I reached out to the company via Social Media to either exchange or receive a store credit.

After delayed communication, harassing questions, and an abundance of my time wasted I do not have a resolution. Why you ask? Because I so not have the last 4 of the credit card number in which it was purchased. It WAS A GIFT! I sent any and all information including pictures! I even mentioned I would stop in the store as I was working in office located in Manhattan! I have shopped nothing but Small Business. This store needs to revamp their customer service! I will not recommend or purchase from Wagwear. The hassle is not worth it!

Bought a brown sling bag for my senior pup. She loves every minute of being in it. The bag is super cute and well constructed

Jimmy is the best. I live in San Francisco so it was hard for me to visualize what kind of carrier to get for my puppy. Jimmy took the time and sent me pictures of messenger bags which were not online and sure enough, with his guidance, I found the perfect bag to lug my pup along. Jimmy made this whole experience so wonderful that I am now trying to convince my hubby we need the doggy tent they sell. Thanks Jimmy!

In all honesty I really wished I could've gave this place 5 stars. I love their bag designs and the stuff they had. I also think it's a great idea how everything is made to order. When I visited the staff there were friendly. However, there was one major flaw! BAD management! My friend helped me order the shopping carrier by phone call in beige since they did not have it in stock in the store.

He was told it will be in the store by Thursday for pick up. When Thursday hit, my friend called to see if it was in store a couple of times and nobody picked up the phone. He also called Friday and no one picked up. He was pretty sure it should've arrived by Saturday since we were promised it would be in store by Thursday. So we drove an hour out to the city to pick up the bag on a Saturday afternoon and when we arrived the staff there said no notice was left and the bag wasn't there.

And supposedly the person my friend spoke to on the phone to have the bag delivered and held in store was the store manager. Even if they didn't have the bag they should've gave us a call or left a note or something. Somehow they didn't pick up phone calls and when we showed up we got nothing. In the end, we ended up paying in the store on the spot for them to order one for pick up for next week (my friend could've done that on the phone when he first called. no idea why they didn't put in an order for him).

Now we have to drive out again next week to pick up the bag. I think everyone here is probably real nice. And the store is pretty awesome. But in all honesty. with management like that. I think we customers deserve an apology. And I sincerely hope that this review reaches your company and I hope this won't happen to other customers in the future because it really ruins the reputation of an awesome establishment such as yourself.

When it comes to dressing my dogs, it's all about it being functional. No silly costumes or bedazzled collars. Bought a vest for my Boston Terrier last winter as he gets cold in the winter time. Quality was good, it's super easy to put on him and it looks great! Fast forward to this summer, went back to the store, worked with Jimmy and got a great dog carrier bag.

I saw it in another Yelp review that they do alterations or customizations on their products and thought it was for clothing only, but I guess they were able to accommodate me with my bag as well! My Frenchie is a bit tall and long for their XL size bag, so I was able to bring my Frenchie and the bag in and worked with Jimmy to see what kind of adjustments were needed. He sent the bag to the LIC shop and I got the customized bag a week later. I look forward to bringing my pups back to get their perfect doggie wear fit.

This is an update to the recent post I placed on YELP regarding customer service. I received a very nice call from the manager (Jimmie). He was extremely helpful and quickly resolved the problem. I'm relieved because "Chaney" really enjoys sporting his Wagwear gear around DC. Thanks Wagwear!

It's no secret that I dress and feed my dog better than myself; he's my child, I love him more than anything else, so why wouldn't I! Today, I spent the equivalent of a modest dinner for two people on one beautiful sweater for my dog. No, I'm not rich, but yes, it was really worth it. After leaving the store, during just a couple blocks walking to the subway, four different people stopped me on the street, giggling and guffawing over my pooch, and that made me beam with tremendous joy.

This experience--which will no doubt be relived many times--means much more to me than a bunch of calories which I really don't need anyway. And more than just emotional justification, the quality of everything in the store is very much apparent. Not only is everything adorable, but it is also durable. And on top of that, the fellow who helped us was unbelievably friendly & accommodating, and the fact that this internationally recognized brand is not only based in NYC but also made in NYC somehow makes it even better.

Cute boutique! My little chi loves his fleecy waterproof jacket. It is very basic, but it is sleek and stylish, and fits his form well.so he is able to move with ease. If I thought there was any way I could get him to wear the jumpsuit I would buy it!

I found this store in desperation about 10 years ago (during that horrendously rainy summer!) when I couldn't find hooded rainwear that properly fit my English bulldog Spike who absolutely refused to walk in the rain. I found a great all-weather raincoat with a substantial quilted removable lining at Wagwear. Although somewhat pricey, it is very high quality and was a good value as it took care of wet/warmth wear for both winter and summer with one purchase.

What is really nice is that the "hood" sits over the top of the dog's head and doesn't require you to tie it on in any way (Spike hates anything constraining) which was one of the fit issues I was grappling with. It's also really easy to put on. two velcro straps make it really easy to get a good fit - with the only caveat being that the hole for the leash is a bit high so you have to use a collar, not a harness, with it.

The coat and lining have held up wonderfully these 10 years The only issue I had is that the leash opening isn't reinforced and it started rippping and fraying a bit from all the leash tension after about 6 or 7 years, and is difficult to repair. It didn't really impact the usability of the coat, so I'm just now feeling after 10 years, that I need to replace it.

But it will definitely be with a new Wagwear all-weather coat! Just got a Frenchie puppy as well, and will definitely be visiting Wagwear to purchase a similar item for her as soon as she reaches her approximate adult size.

I have been looking for a camo dog carrier in London and couldn't find one that was cool and functional. I was going to be visiting NYC and was recommended to check out Wagwear. Wagwear didn't just have one camo bag, but THREE different ones to choose from. I emailed Wagwear two weeks before my trip asking if they could hold the bags and they said no problem.

To be honest, I was a bit doubtful that they would hold items for so long, but to my surprise I walked in, said my name, described the situation and email correspondence and voila - a bag with my name and the samples were all there. I checked them out and bought the small tote that I liked. It was exactly what I was looking for. There were so many other cool things in the store like a little tent for dogs!

The items are not cheap, but you can tell that they're well made. I also like the fact that everything is designed and made in NYC. Will I go back? Absolutely! Loved the products and the service was very friendly and helpful.

Nice people. Very kind warm and welcoming demeanor. Good quality products and great selection. Not pushy and you wont get the annoying up selling. Just friendly help and advice. Everything our dog sleeps in, wears, eats out of, is from here for over two years. Never had a single defect or complaint.

I bought my dog Corky a little Wagwear jacket here a few years ago; we were walking by here yesterday and I thought we'd stop in. I promised Corky that we wouldn't try anything on. The man in the store, Jimmy, told me that they manufacture in Long Island City and distribute worldwide; they love 'em in Japan. I'm a fan of any business that manages to stay in the city and even manufacture here. I've seen their dog clothes and leashes a lot--the "flag" raincoat is popular with a lot of dogs I know--but always like stopping into this boutique. Maybe it's that I always hand-wash my dog's stuff, but I always find their clothes to be sturdy enough.

I'd seen Wagwear clothing before -- they distribute their line to many dog stores on both coasts -- but it was a pleasant experience to walk into their storefront on the east side (think preppy boutique). The staff and owner are super friendly and tolerant of my energetic dog who likes to think she's small enough to fit into beds and tents that are much too small for her. I picked up a nice sweater for my dog, Miya, so she could stay warm in cold NYC weather. Yes, it's pricey, but on par with most nicely designed dog accessories.
