Wenatchee Valley Humane Society Did you know WVHS is more than a shelter? It's true! While we do have an emphasis on pet adoption, we're a rich resource center for pets and the people who love them. What kind of things does that include?
Services
When Gwyneth and Bruce Mitchell founded the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society in 1967 their dream of giving hope and homes to homeless animals in the Wenatchee Valley came to life. As the Mitchells continued their mission, the shelter grew and expanded- both in size and services. Today, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society continues to honor their legacy and passion.
If so, let them know your pet is missing by calling 855-411-0123 or log into your PetHub account. Complete a "Found Report" above. Make sure to include a photo too. You can also call Animal Care and Control to file a report over the phone at 509-662-9577, opt. 1. Ask around in your neighborhood. Someone may be looking for their pet, and you may come across them or someone who knows about it and can give you contact information.
It is natural for a mom to leave her kittens alone for extended periods of time- most commonly she is hunting. It is important not to assume kittens are orphaned just because mom is not present. Be sure to stand at least 35 feet away when observing the kittens. If you stand too close, mom may not feel comfortable returning.
The current public health crisis is a good reminder that the most vulnerable members of our family need to be considered when making a safety plan. Whether its creating a safety plan in case something happens to you or having to a home quickly in an evacuation situation, your pet needs a plan.

The Foster mom for this facility that I adopted from, was the "BEST" I have Ever seen or heard of! "THANK YOU" ROBIN", for having "Huge Heart", & the ability to "Love & Care" for these "Babies", that need people like you! And, "THANK YOU", Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, for finding & trusting, nothing but the Best! My husband & I have the most Sweetest Baby for the rest of our lives. SINCERELY, Joy & Art

As if the humane society isn't enough of a scam already, try to foster for them. The person in charge of the foster program will not respond to multiple calls or emails. If you're lucky you'll get a call back a week later and then they will tell you that you can get in to see a vet in a few days. Then you won't be able to get ahold of them again for at least another week.

Basically you get unhealthy kittens from them and either watch them die or pay the vet bills yourself. Terribly run organization. We have called and emailed your foster coordinator multiple times. We cannot get ahold of her or get a call back. The foster account is not in my name. If only the foster coordinator responded as quickly as you do to bad reviews. We have now paid for two vet visits to our own vet out of our own pocket because of your ineptitude.

Very disappointed in my visit as humane society post they have too much pets but when we went to adopt we needed to be buzzed in. Then needed to know exactly which dog or cat we wanted. How can you know without seeing them as not all are on line. Every animal we have adopted have never been on line. I understand the staffing thing and not upsetting the animals but leaving your license has worked 40 plus years. This doesn't work. You can't have someone else choice your baby. You just know when you see them in person.

I greatly appreciate the catch and release program and Leticia and jason. Very professional despite the huge workload they must have. There are so many feral cats in the valley I am desperately trying to do my share. God bless these dear people when I get my fortune I will donate to these lovely people and help as many animals as God put in my path

I went to go look to adopt a kitten and the lady was literally so rude. I was just simply asking about them and and she screamed at me and said they just got out of surgery. Ok well I was asking about what ones where available and what not. I also asked about some that obviously weren't ready because they are super tiny and was wondering if we could place a hold on one. When I asked she screamed again there in the nursery. I said I understand that. And left!

Sad. Went in to find an indoor/outdoor cat. We have 5 acres surrounded by orchards, the cat would be living a good life. Going out to hunt, coming in for warmth, safety and sleeping. The lady at the shelter was a real Debbie Downer. She said none of the cats could go outside, ever. She started talking about Seattle and if we were in Seattle I'd have to sign papers to never let a cat outside.

Well guess what? We aren't in Seattle! She also proclaimed that in 50 years no cats will live outside because "we will know better.".Just a shame, they could have adopted out a nice cat to a good home, but instead, no cat came home with me and another cat has no forever home, it will have to continue its caged life at the shelter.

My sister and I visited here about 2 years ago. We were interested in a senior dog because of their calm demeanor and the fact that we're not a super active family, love to stay in, and no longer have anyone under the age of 20 in our family. When we asked about a specific senior fluff buddy, they automatically started telling us that they would "not be allowed to go to a home where parties would take place" and continued to stereotype us by our ages (20 and 23 at the time).

The experience was completely ridiculous. two stars for the cleanliness, the good condition of all the animals in their care, and the laughs my family continue to share over this experience. We have a few senior dogs in our care now and I assure, the only parties we're having are the kind that involve cuddling on our laps with fuzzy blankets while we watch movies.

Awesome place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. From what I witnessed the animals seem to be very well taken care of. We found our forever family member here and are so grateful

We adopted the sweetest Siberian Husky and German Shepherd mix here at Wenatchee Humane and he's been the absolute joy of our family! Everyone was so kind and helpful for the adoption process. We couldn't be any happier with our sweet ol' boy.
