What is WiggleBums? WiggleBums is all about helping owners build, repair and maintain their relationships with their dogs by teaching them how to understand and communicate with them. Many of the problems people have with their pets are due to a misunderstanding of normal canine behavior. My favorite analogy is that of being dropped into a foreign country, unable to speak the language, but needing to communicate basic needs -- how do you communicate when your hosts don't speak your language? For that matter, how do you understand a being that doesn't even speak?

Wigglebums is the best way to start your puppy training! Positive reinforcement and clear, easy instructions helped us develop amazing recall with our dog. The socialization component of the classes was so helpful to understand healthy dog play. Highly recommend!

Cannot recommend enough. April is incredible. She immediately established rapport with our dog - you could see it all over his face. She's incredibly knowledgeable in dog psychology, behavior, health. Really any question you have. We enrolled Reyne in the puppy Prodigy program because admittedly we under estimated how much time a puppy truly was. It was extremely important to us that our boy grow up right.

I found wigglebums on google and we lined a meet and greet the following weekend. Needless to say, she started asap. We began to see results right away. Even the puppy classes we were taking elsewhere on the weekends, his behavior changed. He was more engaged, more attentive. Reyne is almost 8 months old now and he's becoming the perfect little gentleman. 10/10 would recommend. I wish I found wigglebums sooner! Those weekend classes would have been taken with April.

Training was great for puppies, but my dog was older than the obvious range and instead of helping or changing that, they just tried to work around it while my older male dog acted out around a bunch of younger puppies. I just felt very unsatisfied with the way it was dealt with. Multiple times our dog was a distraction or nuesance & we would ask about alternative options and were told to isolate far from others with our dog.

I felt absolutely terrible for my dog acting out- hence why we registered for behaviour classes. I felt this was a poor resolution and customer service when specific issues came up. Instead of problem solving for a solution, it felt as though we were slightly brushed off unintentionally, and because of that we did not get proper training while also causing a distraction for the other class attendees.

Instructor was very kind and very good at training! Im just dissatisfied with the outcome of the 6 week program after inquiring about his age and behaviours multiple times throughout the training. I would have happily switched to a more appropriate class and take a age appropriate training class if my inquisition on that idea was unfortunately not taken into consideration.

I know other dogs have graduated and trained well with this academy! Just be aware if your dog is past 6 months to look into socialization classes instead of behaviour and to look into 1 on 1 behavioral classes before investing in the group training.

I want to start off by saying, this concept is wonderful. I think a lot of puppies will gain a lot from this class. However it is NOT good for small breed dogs. My puppy was trampled many times and not treated well from the get go. I had to place him in a crate in the center of the room. This crate was also home to a few children who were also being trampled.

The program indicates there would be 10-12 puppies in the class. This venue was small and had at least 20 puppies in there which was way too many not to mention 1-2 humans per puppy. It was crowded and chaotic. I myself was trampled many times in there and not one person went to correct their puppy. It was a free for all with no obedience. I was not asked to sign in and No one asked me for my puppy's health records as well.

So it made me question everyone else's puppy. All in all this is a class is great for LARGE breed dogs and is not suitable for small breeds and they should consider less dogs in a small room. Perhaps Wigglebums should consider opening a socialization class for our smaller dogs.

We attended the Puppy Primary class on Tue night at Canyon Meadows Community Centre. Loved that the location was close to us! They also offer classes in Okotoks. The venue was not ideal since it is very loud and echoey in there, but did not detract too much from the obedience class. The four 30 minute Puppy Primary classes were brilliant. Learned some very basic skills: recall, sit, down, drop it, etc.

See course outline. When we attended, there were 6 pups in the class. Registration in this class gets you access to the puppy socialization hour immediately after the class. The puppy socialization hour is super chaotic and very loud as one would expect. There was a small ex pen with toys in the middle of the room for more timid dogs or smaller breeds if you choose to use it.

When we attended, there were lots of larger breed pups there and our dog was trampled over and it took her a few visits to get more comfortable. April, the trainer and owner is very knowledgeable with reading dog body language and psychology. She was very adept at interrupting inappropriate or overly excited play during the socialization hour. Overall I think the Puppy Primary class a good value and April a good instructor. Minus one star for the echoey venue. I must have sensitive ears.lol.

The socialization is great, April (the owner) is extremely knowledgable. She helps you understand when playing gets too rough, and has a plethora of tips and tricks to make puppy training a little easier. The price is reasonable (as of May 2019), and having several locations makes it accessible to most. When they say 1 hour of socialization they mean it.

It's a place for dogs to run about and have a play. There's no unnecessary activities like other dog socialization classes have (dressing up your dog, constant stopping during playtime, or watching 3 hours of videos before attending a class). We did feel that some of the things that were said by April's partner (he admits he isn't a dog trainer) were quite odd and made us somewhat uncomfortable at times. I'm sure he doesn't mean it to come across as such, but it does.

Puppy socializing is a riot! Learning a bit of dog psychology from a real expert, that really loves animals and is really loved by animals has been great. We will be bringing our puppy in for obedience classes soon too. The second puppy is arriving this week so socializing him will be right around the corner. We can't wait. I highly recomend wigglebums to anyone with a puppy.
