The Mormon family and employees always take excellent care of my dogs, who are seniors!

Used day boarding service for our puppy. She recieved a fractured tibia Windy acres can't say how it happened while in their care. They just say that no one saw and no camera caught it. Won't answer questions and are rude. Get defensive with us for asking them questions. Around thirty five hundred in costs so far with surgery, vets bills, and scripts. May have to have a second surgery, should know after next week.

I sent my puppy to Windy Acres in Freeland a total of four days. On the fourth day, I went to pick her up and was told by the front desk that her toe is bleeding a little and they think she caught it in their fencing. They brought her out and she he wouldn't put any weight on her back right leg. I took her straight to our vet. Her exam and xrays showed abrasions on her inner right back leg and a fractured tibia.

The xrays were sent to the surgeon, who said she needed immediate surgery. Windy Acres has been half responding to emails from me and have taken the stance of not responsible and to stop asking them questions. We paid for our puppy, just five months old at the time, to be watched. Yet no one can tell us what happened and none of their cameras caught the incident.

The one camera, that I know of, that would have showed her hopping on three legs with an employee present was not saved and recorded over. We are currently at about thirty five hundred charged in medical. She has another visit with the surgeon where we will found out if a second surgery is necessary.

Upon surveying the property I have to say this place is Eden for pets. I will be boarding 3 dogs therenext month. The owner answered the phone. Seems like a really great lady. I am so excited for our pets to go there.

The front desk staff is not personable or friendly. It's been a while since we've boarded our dogs, but we had to pay extra for play time and walks - maybe that is standard now, but it seems ridiculous. Hard to say if the dogs even got that extra attention. They came home completely traumatized, pottied in our house when we don't normally have that problem with them ever, and they were dehydrated and starving.

In other reviews it said their dogs are always bathed upon leaving- I can say that is not the case and imagine that's an extra service to pay for. Our dogs came home dirty with that stinky spray on them that the groomers use. Will not return and do not recommend.

Well I have a German shepherd, 1 year + a little, a male coming in to his male hormones so he is a little testy. The girls just lightly grab his leash and go, spacious, many options of just stuff, when I got home yesterday Bear my dog said he liked someone there, little joke

Our dogs love going to Windy Acres when we are out of town. They come back extremely happy and they smell wonderful when we pick them up as Windy Acres always gives them a bath the last day!

We have used Windy Acres for over 17 years now on our 3rd dog to stay at their facilities. We have hunting retrievers and we appreciate the grounds, the kennel runs, and the owners & staff that take care of the boys when we have to leave them behind. We come with a list of meds and such for the senior dogs and they take care to take care of them. The boys are bathed & their supplies are ready to go on pick up day.

The dogs are tired when they come home & potty routines are askew; a kennel is a lot of stimulus and it isn't a normal routine like home. This happens with any place we have left them. We have used other kennels-pricier, with perhaps more perceived amenities and definitely more options charged a la carte such as baths at the end of the stay-and we choose to use Windy Acres Kennels when we have the opportunity.

We boarded our 7 month old dog here over the Fourth of July holiday and after picking him up he reeked of urine and so did all of his belongings. We had a 2 hour drive home. He is fully potty trained and doesn't have accidents at home. His paws were covered in mud. Now we know why all the other preferred kennels in the area were booked up and this place wasn't. We won't be returning and do not recommend.

We used Windy Acres to board our goldendoodle for the first time ever. Honestly, it was like leaving your kids at daycare for the first time. I was so nervous! We won't be using this kennel again. Our goldendoodle is pretty laid back and happy.she loves her people! She was only there 2.5 days. I called several times to check on her and each time was told that she was doing ok.

When we picked her up, based on her behavior and bathroom habits, it was very clear that she had not been eating. While this can be expected with stress and anxiety of missing her family, no one told me this when I called. What was even more alarming was that she returned with a wound on her back leg and a cut/puncture on her backside. I called and no one could tell me what happened.

She has avet appointment today, so we will hopefully get some insight as to what might have caused these wounds. She is now also jumpy with sounds and when you approach her. She did not come back the same dog! She also came back to us dirty and with an awful smell. I had to bath her right away. I know things happen, but we definitely won't be going back to Windy Acres.

We tried Windy Acres to board our 13year old, blind multipoo and our young red lab. We were leaving the country for 10 days. They made accommodations to keep the two dogs next to each other, yet in their own kennel. During the stay, my multipoo was not well and stopped eating. They took the extra attention and made her chicken and moved her to a quiet, safe place.

She did not show improvement and they took our Multipoo to our own vet in our hometown, not the closest. They got in contact with our emergency contact. They were able to get to the vet ASAP to find out she was in kidney failure and neurological failure. My sweet girl passed away in my family members' arms. Windy Acres and staff made good, fast decisions.

They tried what they could and took immediate action when needed. I wanted to pay them extra for this special care. The reply I received was that there was no extra charge, this is just the care that was needed on their watch. I will use them forever moving forward. The lab was in dog utopia, I was told and she sure was! It is extremely comforting to know my sweet Lucy did not pass in a kennel alone.

She was with family she knew well. I have never had a kennel take such good care and make the best decisions before. I fully recommend Windy Acres if you want the best care. It was Christmas week that this happened and there was such extra attention during a busy time. They also could have written off my Lucy's not eating because of the environment.

They took no risks and noticed this immediately and got her the best care. Thank you, thank you Windy Acres for going well above and beyond. I look forward to a long relationship with our young lab as she grows and a new little puppy that will be joining our family. Kindest, Lisa Haas

We've been taking our pups here for a couple of years for our summer vacation. Maya and Tank are always so happy to see us, never resentful. Last year when we were at the last day of our reservation we came home to our house flooded. They were very accommodating and kept the pups a few more days till we could get a plan in place. Thank you Windy acres! Our dogs will go no where else.

The staff is always friendly. When we pick our dogs up, they are always clean. There was an emergency situation in the past where we had to get our dogs in at the last minute and were not able to say when we could pick them up exactly. They were flexible with us and told us they could keep them as long as we needed. That took a lot of stress off and was greatly appreciated that they were flexible like that and could focus on the situation at hand rather than worry about our pups.
