Dr. Julie Dyer received her veterinary medical training at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She practiced veterinary medicine in Blue Springs for 5 years before opening Lakewood Animal Health Center in the fall of 1994. Dr. Dyer is a member of the AVMA, MVMA, and KCVMA. She enjoys most watching puppies and kittens grow into lifelong companions and assisting their families in providing optimum health care. She has a special interest in ultrasound diagnostics, endocrine disease, and orthopedic injuries.

She was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. She is passionate about working with animals, creating art, playing ukulele, and spending time with loved ones. Kyra shares her space with a Siamese cat named Princess Sugar Spice and a calico kitty named Gabby. She hopes to attain a degree as a registered veterinary technician.
