Founded in 2005 by Tony Sala, CPDT, Crazy Canines began as an in-home pet care service and has grown into one of the region's premier dog daycare centers. Our facility, known as The Asylum, was the first in Lowell to feature a fully fenced, shaded outdoor play area, setting a new standard for pet care environments. We maintain small group sizes to ensure personalized, stress-free experiences for every dog, with detailed communication about each visit to keep owners informed. Our services include daycare, obedience training, problem-solving sessions, weekend walks, and limited in-home boarding for current daycare clients. All staff members are certified in pet first aid and trained to provide professional, compassionate care. We prioritize safety through temperament checks, size-appropriate playgroup pairings, and constant supervision by experienced pet care professionals. Our facility includes nine indoor runs and an outdoor play area with toys and obstacles to stimulate dogs physically and mentally. Located at 1088 Gorham Street in Lowell, Massachusetts, we serve clients Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Dog Daycare
Our dog daycare provides supervised play in secure indoor and outdoor spaces with size-appropriate socialization. What are your operating hours?

What health requirements exist for daycare?
Dogs must have current vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella) and a negative fecal exam every six months. Proof of vaccination must be provided before first visit.

We used Crazy Canines periodically for our dog for half-days. The staff was nice. However, the last time I went to pick him up, I was abruptly told, "yeah, today I think is his last day with us, he hates it here." This was I believe by the owner, who never even cared to introduce himself or ask me my name. His observation was that my dog did not like it there because he barked a lot inside, but was great outside.
I understand how this could be disruptive, but this was also the very first time I was hearing of this. There had never been any prior communication. I am fine with the decision regardless, but not at all the way it was handled. If you're the owner, there's a level of professionalism you need to have with your customers, especially in situations like this that probably occur fairly often at a dog daycare.

Can't say enough good things about crazy canines. We have a rescue pup who wasn't properly socialized. She's a handful! We tried another local daycare because crazy canines was full at the time and I left her first day in tears. They told us our girl was a "bully" and would likely not ever get along with other dogs. Mind you she was 4 months old. Fast forward and we finally were able to get our girl in here and she's doing well.
They are SO patient with her, and always take the time to answer our questions about her behavior and progress. I feel totally confident leaving her there, knowing she'll be able to play and learn how to behave.

Crazy canines has been our savior! We have a German shepherd that has been going there a few times a week for 2 years now. The dog truly can't get in their door fast enough! They do daycare as well as training. Highly recommend!

Great place! WE LOVE IT!We have been taking our 2 dogs there for over a Year. Tony the owner is very knowlegable and so is his staff. The building looks run down but Crazy Canines is not. It never smells and we know are 2 dogs are safe and well cared for. It has an outdoor space which was very important to us One of our dogs will not pee or poop in a building. The dogs were going to a Corporate day care part of a pet store. They had no out door space. I am a nurse and my schedule changes frequently. The pet store was not accomidating AT ALL. I bring my 2 "Fur babies" on a regular basis. I am a nurse and have an crazy schedule. They have been so accommodating! Tony the owner is there all the time. He and his staff genuinely care about the dogs. The Building looks sketchy. But once you enter the daycare. It is well taken care of AND THE ONLY SMELL YOU WILL SMELL IS BLEACH. They have a nice little outdoor area. My dogs WILL NOT go to the bathroom in a building. They were going to a National pet store. I would have to race out so they could go to the bathroom. I WOULD NOT BRING MY DOGS ANYPLACE ELSE.

Our dog can't control herself when we ask her if she wants to go to "school." Tony and crew are the best. The space is clean and everything about what they do is positive. I never worry about our gal when she's there.

We love Crazy Canines! Our pup always comes home tired and happy, he runs out with a big puppy smile on his face, and gets excited every time we pull into the parking lot. The staff is always so accommodating and polite and the facility is very clean, .
