Agility Dogs At Tails-A-Waggin
Report
Huge congrats to Sheila and Phil Tresenrider and their border collie, Ziggy. They showed in their first AKC Trial in January of 2018, and qualified in 3 out of 4 runs, earning legs in Novice Standard, Jumpers and FAST. Both handlers are amazing for Novice handlers. And Ziggy does a super job of working with both Sheila and Phil.
Beginning Obedience
Report
Sit, down, come, stay, walk on a leash without pulling, leave it and a lot of other handy house-manners. We will expose the dogs to some agility equipment for fun, and to see if it is something you might want to do in the future. We use Rally exercises as a part of our teaching. We will also be performing the Canine Good Citizen Test on the last night of class.
Puppy Training
Report
Puppyhood is a lot of fun and a lot of work! It is important to remember that what you do now is shaping who your adult dog will be. Whether you plan it that way or not, every interaction you have with your puppy is training. The board teaches walking on elevated surface; the ball is for balance and tactile stimulation; the ladders are for work on proprioception-the dog's body's spacial awareness.
AKC Rally
Report
AKC Rally is taught as a stand-alone class on occasion. Many of the Novice Rally Exercises are taught as a part of Level I obedience. This provides opportunities for handlers to teach dogs to walk with them, and come when called.without doing endless circles.which is really boring to dogs and handlers!
