Rescuing and Rehabilitating Companion Animals in Dallas-Ft. Worth
Founded in 1989, Coppell Humane Society operates as a foster-based rescue organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Our volunteer-driven team provides individualized care for animals at risk of euthanasia, ensuring they receive medical attention and behavioral training while in foster homes. We prioritize long-term placement over temporary solutions, keeping animals in our program until they find permanent homes or pass away naturally. With over three decades of experience, our organization has evolved from grassroots efforts to a structured network of foster families and volunteers. Our expertise lies in assessing animal health and behavior through home-based care, which allows for comprehensive rehabilitation.

Recognized as a trusted leader in local animal rescue, we maintain transparency through detailed adoption processes and community education initiatives. We demonstrate authority through partnerships with regional shelters and consistent advocacy for animal welfare. Our commitment to ethical practices includes no-kill policies and clear communication with adopters, donors, and volunteers. This approach has established us as a reliable resource for both pet owners and fellow rescue organizations in North Texas.

Services
Animal Adoption
We facilitate permanent placement of rescued dogs and cats into loving homes. Our adoption process includes behavioral assessments, medical evaluations, and matching animals with suitable families. The program ensures animals receive necessary vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before adoption.
Foster Care Program
Our volunteer foster network provides temporary homes for rescued animals. Fosters offer individualized care, monitor health and behavior, and prepare animals for adoption. This home-based approach allows for better socialization and medical attention compared to traditional shelter environments.
Volunteer Opportunities
We offer various volunteer roles including animal fostering, adoption event assistance, transport coordination, and administrative support. Volunteers receive training in animal handling, shelter protocols, and community outreach to support our rescue mission.
Donation Programs
Our donation initiatives fund medical care, food, and supplies for rescued animals. Contributions support spay/neuter programs, emergency veterinary treatment, and shelter partnerships. Donors can contribute through one-time gifts, monthly pledges, or in-kind donations from our wishlists.
Community Education
We provide educational resources about responsible pet ownership, animal behavior, and population control. Programs include workshops on proper pet care, school presentations about compassion, and guidance for preventing pet homelessness through spaying/neutering.

Discovered CHS when searching for a local rescue organization to foster kittens through and I am happy to have found them. Very sweet group of volunteers who are dedicated to helping sick and disadvantaged animals. They have 3 adoption events a month, in Lewisville and Coppell, and also have fun events in the area-like at the Coppell Farmers market. Through CHS we have helped 9 cats find their forever home and we love it!
