History
Report
Dorothy Hanna O'Connor (1907-1992), Victoria's preeminent caregiver of dogs and cats, established Six Flags Humane Society in 1963 as the community's first animal rescue shelter. As the successor organization, The Dorothy H. O'Connor Pet Adoption Center is dedicated in her memory, so that a new generation of Victoria County's citizens may continue in her work of humane treatment of dogs and cats and to facilitate the adoption of God's creatures into loving homes.
Services
Report
Dorothy H. O'Connor Pet Adoption Center offers microchipping and nail trims to the public.*. Every animal at DOCPAC is scanned upon arrival to ensure they haven't strayed from their loving home. We try to make every effort to locate owners and reunite families if the animal has a microchip. Microchipping is a safe and effective procedure that can help reunite your pet in the event that they become lost or stolen.

Our adoption counselors will ask you many questions to determine which pet will thrive in your home. We want you to be a "furever" parent! Please understand that we deal with homeless animals with many from unknown backgrounds; they could have behavioral and physical challenges. The adoption process may seem time consuming, but we wish to maximize both the animal and adopters chance for success.
