Been coming here for years! Amazing, patient, and kind staff as they let us tour around and say hello to the animals. Very friendly pets! Give Garfield all the love!

My kids and I loved stopping in to play and bring a gift of kitty litter, which they are in a constant need of! Thank you!.

They were very accommodating and helpful with the adoption of my kitty. All the animals I met were well-cared-for and seemed happy with their accommodations until their forever families find them. When my kitty visited the vet after adoption, my vet complimented HSNWIA on the care documented in her medical history. They have lots of sweet animals there who need homes and people to love them. I encourage you to adopt from here.

I reached out about a update about a family memebers cats who had been brought in, as I knew those cats since I was a young child. I hadn't spoke to the family member in years and wasn't aware that the cats had been abandoned or how bad of a situation they were in. They completely ignored me and then put one of them to sleep. All I asked for was a update, that would've taken 5 minutes. I even asked if there were things the cats needed that I could donate.

I have never encountered a shelter that makes it so difficult to adopt an animal. I lost my little cat after having him 18 years and wanted another black cat. I searched every shelter in my area and then came upon a cat at this shelter that I wanted to adopt, even though they are almost 2 hours away and the adoption fee is pretty steep. At first they told me I can't meet him until I fill out an adoption application, which I did.

Then I hear nothing back. After emailing them back and forth I am told the cat cannot leave for another week. Again they do not respond to my reply. After several days of this I ask what is going on and I am told my application was rejected. I ask for what reason. My animals are very well taken care of and loved dearly. This little cat would have an extremely good life in my care and be very well taken care of.

Their reply was that my vet would not give them any information unless I gave them permission. So instead of telling me this, they reject my application. They finally get in touch and I'm told my other cat needs updated on shots (there is a medical reason she was not updated). I tell them I have an appointment for her and their reply is they are waiting for the vet to call them back.

This was 3 days ago and they have stopped replying to my emails. It's ridiculous how they don't even communicate or work with people who are interested in an animal there. Too bad, you couldn't find a home where this cat would be more spoiled and loved. I won't look at anything at this shelter ever again

My partner and I adopted a kitty from them a few months ago. While signing papers I asked if they did a military discount. The woman in the back office seemed to strongly dislike this question and yelled "NO thats like me going to the military and asking for a humane society discount!" Jordan, their director, seemed to show a disliking for me from the beginning, she talked to me with disdain a majority of the time.

Recently I asked about a puppy before she was even up for adoption, they would not let me adopt her because somehow it wasn't fair to everyone else that might be interested (I thought the point was to find animals homes and I was willing to adopt her ASAP). Jordan said she would put me down as interested and she would "look into it" whatever that means.

I kept trying to reach out about her availability. I submitted an application within minutes of her Facebook post. They avoided my calls, I know this because my partner called them from another number and they answered immediately. Jordan scolded her, thinking I was the one talking, for wanting a puppy rather than another dog I was originally interested in but couldn't get because the fee was higher than we thought.

My partner explained to her the circumstance. Jordan again, said she would "look into it". About a week later they adopted her to another family. They deleted my comment about this on their Facebook along with someone else's comment about them showing favoritism towards certain adopters.

I don't feel this shelter is truly interested in placing pets in a good loving home. I have only owned 3 cats in the past 38 years. Two of which were adopted from rescues.

Any place saving animals is great in my book. Hence the 5 stars. THE STAFF IS AWFUL. SAVE A DOG AND GET OUT. MULTIPLE good, responsible people I know have been turned away from there to adopt pets due to the staff's (one was ARIN) attitude and personal issues toward people in general. If you can't work with the public and put aside your issues don't work with the public or be put on charge of finding the animals homes.

Someone with people skills needs to be put in charge if the interviewing process. Sincerely, a rescue dog mom of 8 years, every animal deserves a good home. (Except snakes gross)

I just went there and the people there are so nice! I got to be a guinea pig and I got to test if one of their dogs are fond with 'little kids'! I love how most of their cats are free to roam, and are not cooped up in small cages! The staff is amazing and I think what they are doing for these animals is so great.
