Ways to Help
Report
CCHS has over 900 animals travel through its doors each year. We couldn't give the support the animals receive without our strong network of volunteers. There are many ways that individuals, like you, can change the life of one less fortunate dog or cat. You can help us today by assisting with any of the following activities.
Training Your Dog
Report
There are many resources out there to assist you with dog training, teaching your dog basic commands and address problem behaviors. One thing to understand is that dogs that are from a shelter environment may not have had any training or have forgotten some of their training from their previous home.
Humane Education
Report
Keeping animals safe and loved is the number one priority for any animal lover. As their owners, we are also their protectors and guardians. There are many dangers and things to be aware of that one might not normally think about, but aside from that there are ways to make sure our pets are happy and fulfilled.
Report Animal Abuse
Report
Unfortunately, the humane society is not animal control and not authorized to act as such. As much as we would love to assist, you must contact the police about suspected animal abuse and/or neglect. You can dial 911 and tell them it's a non-emergency, or contact one of the local law enforcement agencies listed below.
