In January of 2007, Dr. Counts welcomed Tim Wells, RVT, as an equal partner of the practice. After the partnership was formed, he and Dr. Counts began exploring the idea of expanding the business once again, debating whether to remodel the existing facility or build a new one. A brand new facility won out. In July of 2011, Shawnee Animal Clinic broke new ground directly next door to the existing facility.With 13,000 sq. SAC has a separate area for hospitalized dogs and cats. The Cat Ward has "cat condos" that allow our patients to rest more comfortably, which aids in faster healing.

Dave Counts is a dearly missed past employee. He was the husband of Michell Counts and brother of Dr. Gail Counts and Cathy Strickland. He was loved by our clients and staff and was always there in their time of need. He has left shoes that can never be filled and a hole in our hearts that will only be soothed when we see his smiling face again.

The hardest part of our job is when a pet crosses over the rainbow bridge. We love each and every animal we care for here at SAC, and we want to honor the ones who are no longer with us.
