In 1987, Tim and Lauren met and began their education in dog grooming at New York School of Dog Grooming. Upon graduating from dog grooming school, Tim opened Bark of the Town on Sunbury Street in Millerstown. After marrying and moving into their home, Tim and Lauren added Bark of the Town Kennels onto an addition attached to their garage, then just six kennels, in 1991.
After being consistently being booked to capacity and having waiting lists each summer, they built a new 24 run boarding kennel behind their house that opened in the fall of 2004.

Regular grooming is an important part of keeping your pet healthy. There are five major areas to focus on when caring for your pet: coat, teeth, nails, ears and eyes. While this care requires effort, it will pay off in a pet that stays healthier longer. It is important to start these activities as early as possible - preferably around eight weeks - to get your pet accustomed to and comfortable with these activities. When you call us to make an appointment to have your pet groomed we will provide the best, safest grooming experience for your pet.

Pet Health
Report
It is not meant to be a substitute for a visit to the vet but to make you more knowledgeable concerning these common issues and their vaccines. We take many precautions to prevent these diseases at our kennel, including attending various continuing education seminars with pet health and kennel management to stay up-to-date, and always using disinfectant when cleaning and frequent hand washing for staff. This is a contagious infection that causes upper respiratory signs - mainly coughing - in dogs.
