They have NO pet services as they do not have a veterinarian. So if you are poor and need to put humanely put your animal down, you are out of luck unless you have $300 to go to Asher Veterinary. The prices for vets are going up as fast as gas. So if you are poor good luck on taking care of your best friend dog or cat. It is disgusting more stray pets than ever before as people cannot spay-neuter or get medical help they can afford.

I give four stars, because they do a lot of good. But people should know that they require that all animals be vaccinated. This is their policy, but there are no laws requiring this. Again, there are no laws in California requiring that an animal be vaccinated.

The dogs have some really nice roomy kennels. What I love about the staff is that they take their time to know the personality of each dog. Therefore each kennel posts the description of each dog, including the persona of the pooch. Too many cute doggies. Come and love them, and take home with you. Definitely cannot go wrong if you are a pet/dog lover.

I've been trying to bring in an abandoned cat and her 3 kittens here. I have been calling every morning at exactly 8 AM to check if there is space and I get told each day there's no room. My mother called this morning and we were told that they had room yesterday in the afternoon, but the space was now taken. Why am I being told to call in the morning if you guys are freeing up space later in the day?

I've been at this for 2 weeks now, calling each day at 8 AM to the point where I even set an alarm to go off at 7:59 AM so I can be the first one to call. I understand you guys are currently at max capacity, but I don't think it's very fair that you're telling us to check in the morning yet have room in the afternoon. I just want these kittens to go to a good shelter.

I called them for help for what might of been a rabid racoon. They ended up giving me 2 tickets 100.00 total because my dogs weren't licensed.but are always fenced in there yard. but did nothing about the racoon who attacked my smaller dog.

These people are so loving to the animals I was so impressed. Kennels were clean. Just made me wished I have the land to take most of them home. I thought I was getting a dog, but was given roadblocks from my apt mgr. I really fell in love with April too. I haven't given up, even if I have to become a volunteer I will to have a dog

Got in the same day to see a dog. Although she was just placed on the vet side I was able to look at her. GP with an amazing personality. Great staff that helped me see her sweetness. Best rescue ever!

They helped me with a wonderful stray I found. They were so good at keeping me informed of how the little lost girl was doing. They are a no kill shelter now.

Called to make an appt. very organized check in process and follows Covid safety guidelines. Very affordable and informed me of the clinics to get less expensive vaccines for our fur babies. Wasn't pushy by assisting you nor made you feel guilty if you had to wait on additional recommendations but not necessities at the present time.

Well looks like Haven has found my dog. Receiving claims he's eight months and they know who he belongs to. Headed there on Tuesday with the mother, father and grand father off the dog in question. Should be interesting

Found him last night in the adopt section at Haven Humane. I just want to say the people at Haven ARE LYING, HEARTLESS, SOLELESS CREATURES! They've had him for 9 days! 9! When I called I was assured they didn't have him by the animal control officer. When my wife called she was assured the same thing. No dog fitting that description and if there was.

They dont take dogs from Shasta Lake. LIARS! They've kept him so they can charge me $300 dollars! When the situation was explained the ladies onlyvresponse was, ok. Can I help you with anything else? I thought they cared about animals. Why would they RIP my dog from my home to place him else where? F**K HAVEN HUMANE! They aren't humane at all These people should be ashamed of themselves. How are they still running? Can the ASPCA please make a random drop in to this place? Or can we get some under-covers in this craphole?

My review of Haven depends on which department I'm contacting. Last year I had to give up a litter of kittens. Their mom was a stray (I kept one of her daughters). This year I thought I was OK with doing cat rescues. But the 1st cat I rescued had 4 babies. The kittens were almost 3 weeks old I took mom and babies to Haven. It was a horrible experience.

If I'm dealing with the people in the Spay and Neuter department they seem to be compassionate. The animal regulation people are 2-thumbs-down! Two thumbs down, uneducated, no skill required want-to-be cops. Period. I want to go and get those kittens back and their mom but I know they won't let me. So sad and guilty.

They seem to be all for dogs and nothing to do to help all the cats trying to survive on the streets.they wont trap wont come help sick cats or hurt cats and when you try and bring a cat in well good luck with that. I feel the reason well the biggest reason we have such a problem with stray cats is due to haven humane and animal control not doing the right thing and helping. It is only going to get worse and people take it out on the poor cats when it should be the haven humane

Took my fur baby in for her to get fixed since I was on a tight income and I could afford Haven. Little did I know that the end result would be my paying way more. Day 2 after her operation her front paw began to swell. I called them back and they said I could bring her in and they would take a look at it but due to it not having anything to do with her operation it would not be covered.

I waited for the supervisor to contact me back and never heard from her. This was a Friday, by Saturday morning my pups paw was so swollen it looked like it was going to split open and she had this horrible cough and continuous sneezing. Long story short I had to take her to Asher. Turned out she had cellulitis from not being properly prepped for iv and she had kennel cough. (my other dog got it too) it wasn't until I wrote a review on their fb page did the supervisor contact me. Now their review section is gone spend more money and take your pet elsewhere, you'll save money in the end.

I appreciate how clean the kennels are, and the wonderful "visitation rooms", but I don't appreciate small dogs and puppies held for rescues. I know rescues are a wonderful thing, but when there is someone right there wanting to adopt, why hold? Just for profit? I donate to animal rescues. including HavenHumane. I am a foster.

Do not take your dog or any other animal here. I took my dog here to get neutered and they did a complete hack job! to top it off he came home with kennel cough and got my other dog sick! Rude staff, unsanitary conditions, and vets who probably graduated at the bottom of their class! If I could give them zero stars I would.

15 years ago Haven Humane was a good organization you could get a dog you can get a cat you can even adopt a bird prices were reasonable doctors were Fair now they want office visit money they want medication relocation money they want oh I checked you in money and the vet wants to look at your dog and that's an extra fee and then any procedures after work is an extra fee and by the time you leave you spent $700 for $18 shot Haven Humane has become greedy and very capitalistic and I would not recommend them to anybody. Haven Humane is about as useless as tits on a boar hog and on top of all that they don't treat the animals that will

Don't even bother with these idiots. They don't answer their phones ever. They don't return calls. And when you finally go down there they tell you you have to come back later. If they would just answer their phone I wouldn't have to keep going down there when I live all the way on the other side of town. Also they do tend to spread parvo. Only go here if absolutely necessary because they will make your animal sicker so that you'll have to bring it back.

Took my two cats there for a general check up- the usual flea treatment, update of vaccines, etc. They didn't seem to even give one cat any flea treatments at all, and after the appointment, the other cat seemed "off" i.e couldn't walk straight, dizzy, lethargic, wouldn't drink water or eat, etc. I took him back in again and told them my concerns, they gave my cat an I.V. (the I.V site seems like a point of irritation which my cat scratched all his fur off, and opened a new wound area).

The whole general appointment left me with high anxiety, because I thought I was losing my cat from the simple treatments there. This experience left me somewhat apprehensive about bringing my animals to a vet, as I fear we may encounter this again, or worse.

I had my male dog nurtured today and we had a great experience at Haven Humane. The staff were friendly and competent, the place was clean and there was lots of cute dog paintings hung on the walls. I really appreciate how sweet the staff were especially since they have such a stressful job! The operation was very affordable, his neuter, rabies and license came out to $82 dollars! Definitely get your dog licensed, they give you a voucher for the operation! My Luke dog is happy to be home and in good spirits, thanks haven humane!

They walked my, not fully vaccinated, puppy out of surgery into the main lobby to bring her back to me. I was shocked when I saw her walking out knowing she was being exposed to everything that was on the floor in that lobby.

What shitty customer service. Mrs H white who was working the counter was the most unpleasant person I have ever encountered. What a bitch. She should be fired. They also pretend to send out reminders about when licenses expire but they don't. It's all a con to fine people $50 and then berate them when they come in to renue. If I had never don't the responsible thing and license my dog in the first place this never would have happened and I would have saved money.

What an incentive to do the wrong thing. This city's police system is so useless. They can't keep people from breaking into my car but they will come door to door about expired dog licenses. What bullshit!

When we adopted a dog from Haven, we were told about their "return" policy. But when we needed to return the dog 2 days after the acceptable return day, I was told that I had take the dog back home due to a lack of spot for the dog. I tried explaining that I called earlier and was told they were holding a spot for us because both of our small children were scared of the lab mix.

But was still told I had to take the dog back home. After a lengthy conversation and me in tears, I was told they would take the dog but I was going to be black listed for the rest of time from being able to adopt any kind of animal from Haven.

I have been trying to trap feral cats in my backyard and caught a skunk instead. I learned the hard way not to attempt to release it myself. After several showers, bathing, and laundering, things are back to normal and I called HHS about the skunk since I'm not about to try releasing it again. They dispatched a police officer to remove the skunk.

I want to see how he handles it without getting sprayed. My only complaint is that the officer will take the trap with the skunk. I will have to drive to HHS and pick the trap back up myself. I wish the officer could just transfer the skunk to another cage instead of transporting it in mine.
