DOG fosters: with some of our foster families headed back to work and school, we're looking for a few more people to add to our Foster Roster! We may not have the right dog for you immediately, but we want to make sure we have some extra homes available when we have dogs who need them! Fill out the foster application or email with any questions! If you are interested in fostering CATS (especially adult cats!) fill out an application or email us for more info. Adoptions and intake will continue to take place, but all appointments must be scheduled in advance after filling out an adoption application-the shelter will not be open to the general public.

Meet Amy

Amy Sacks is the founder and Executive Director of the Pixie Project. She's been an animal lover her whole life, running a spay/neuter clinic and an animal adoption program in college and working with homeless youth to ensure that their animals were healthy and spayed/neutered. In 2006, Amy turned her passion into reality when she founded the Pixie Project.

We're a nonprofit animal rescue that focuses on doing really great, family friendly cat and dog adoptions. We also run a low-cost veterinary clinic to provide care to senior, veteran, disabled, and low-income pet owners. If you're interested in adopting a cat, you can meet most of our available cats and kittens at Pixie or check out our website to see cats that are off-site or in foster homes.

Pixie is currently operating by appointment with an approved adoption application. Applications must be filled out BEFORE making an appointment to meet any dogs, cats, or kittens. Even if you're unsure of which specific pet you'd like to meet, filling out the application is the first step. You do not need to put a specific pet's name on the application!
