Wellness Exams
Annual wellness exams ensure early detection of age-related diseases in pets under 8 years, with biannual visits recommended for seniors. These exams include comprehensive physical assessments and tailored health advice. Regular checkups help maintain long-term health through timely interventions and dietary adjustments.
Laser Therapy
Companion Therapy Laser accelerates healing post-surgery or injury, easing pain for arthritic pets. The FDA-cleared technology stimulates cellular repair and releases endorphins for pain relief. It effectively treats hip dysplasia, wounds, and inflammation with non-invasive sessions.
Dentistry
Professional dental cleanings use ultrasonic scalers and subgingival root planing to remove tartar, followed by polishing to prevent buildup. Procedures are performed under inhalation anesthesia with monitoring, ensuring oral health and preventing systemic diseases linked to dental issues.
Surgery
Routine and non-routine surgeries are conducted with pre-anesthetic blood tests for pets over 7 years. Advanced monitoring of pulse and oxygen levels ensures safety, with post-op pain management and follow-up care. Complex cases are referred to specialists when needed.
Senior Care
Annual health monitoring includes bloodwork for liver, kidney, and diabetes screening, paired with dietary consultations. Tailored exercise and wellness plans address arthritis and sensory decline, ensuring senior pets maintain quality of life through proactive management.

I've been going here for 20+ years. Unfortunately, they hired some front desk help that was anything but! This "person", receptionist, (God forbid Vet Tech!) whatever was outright RUDE. My 8mo. old PUPPY, had a lump on her side. Period, nothing else wrong with her, normal in ever other respect, which I tried to convey, only to be talked over and told " IF IT WAS MY DOG, I'D TAKE "IT" TO THE ER" Then to top if off, I was called an hour before my appointment and told the power was out and she (same gem) would call me the next day to re-schedule, nothing Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Monday, I called another vet. Sorry guys, this kind of shit's not acceptable.

Plaza Veterinary Hospital is an oasis of kindness and excellence in a world where both are in short supply. They are thorough and helpful and clearly love their animal clients. This is a good practice and if you're seeking care for your animal this is the place to go.

Have gone to Plaza Vet for over 10 years. Have never had a bad experience taking care of my 2 dogs and 1 cat. The techs are excellent. Last time I took cat he got upset in carrier and made a mess. Tech said no problem, and took carrier, cleaned it and provided a new clean towel in the bottom. Dr's Ast and Carron seem to really care about your pet. They also both seem to have the experience and knowledge to help with the health of your pet.
If there is a procedure they feel is appropriate for treatment of your pet they are upfront about what the cost will be before doing so you do not get a surprise. Last time with cat they were actually significantly under the estimate. They seem to only prescribe treatment that is necessary for the health of your pet. No pushing of other stuff. In case you have not figured it out yet, I really like this place. Lots of vets closer to me. It is a 1/2 hour drive and could go to one that is 2 minutes away, but I have always had good results here. The 2 minute away I have had mixed results.

Had my dog, Pepper, get her nails cut down. They did an awesome job! She is hard to trim due to her black nails & wick. She is also very touchy about her paws. Thrilled with the results of her trim!

Dr. Ast and Dr. Carron have taken excellent care of both my Golden's - about 15 years worth of care in total. Honestly, I don't have a preference which doctor I see as both are wonderful! They are compassionate, caring, don't push services and treatments that aren't totally necessary and are very upfront about costs of services if they might be expensive. All the Tech's are great too! Very knowledgeable, helpful and true animal lovers! I highly recommend Plaza Veterinary Hospital!
