Old Oak Retrievers, located in Southern Minnesota, provides training for Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. We specialize in training hunting dogs from all over the country & we also have British Lab Field Trial Champion Studs available for breeding. Rick McConico has been the head trainer at Old Oak Retrievers for more than 30 years.

Rick has been a serious hunter all of his life and he understands the unique training needs of British Labs and Golden Retrievers. Rick has put Master Hunter titles on numerous retrievers including some International Field Trial Champions.

Boarding

We are happy to arrange special drop off and pick up hours upon request and if staff is available. For our training dogs, we ask that you bring in 2-3 day supply of their normal food so we can gradually transition the dog into our food. We also ask that you provide any Heartworm prevention or Flea/Tick product you would like given to your dog.

At Old Oak Retrievers, we keep the cleanest, most comfortable kennel you'll find anywhere. Each animal has an indoor and an outdoor area. Our geothermal heating and air conditioning system is a state-of-the-art system, second to none. The kennel is also equipped with an air exchanger that refreshes the air hourly to keep our kennel free of doggy odors.
