Services
Pet Adoption
We connect adoptable animals with loving homes through three regional adoption centers. Our process includes behavioral assessments, medical evaluations, and post-adoption support to ensure successful transitions. Dedicated staff guide families through pet selection and provide resources for long-term care.
Veterinary Care
Boston Veterinary Care offers high-quality, low-cost medical treatment for pets. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, surgeries, and emergency care. All profits directly support shelter animals, ensuring comprehensive healthcare access for both pets and their owners.
Community Programs
Our mobile units provide spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and wellness care in underserved neighborhoods. Initiatives like Healthy Moms, Happy Litters prevent animal homelessness, while community cat programs address feral population management through trap-neuter-return methods.
Temporary Pet Housing
This program offers short-term care for pets when owners face temporary hardships like housing instability. Pets stay in our adoption centers or foster homes with regular owner updates, maintaining bonds until reunification becomes possible.
Pet Behavior Helpline
Our FREE helpline provides expert advice on pet behavior challenges. Certified trainers assist with training techniques, anxiety management, and socialization strategies to strengthen human-animal relationships and prevent surrenders.

I had saw a puppy on the website and just knew I needed her to come home with me. I showed up the next day right as the shelter was opening, asked to see her, and immediately knew she was meant for me. Her name was Navy but it changed it to Nova and now she's my little sidekick coming on all kinds of adventures with me! She's made my life drastically better in just the last month!

Website leads you to believe that the animals are available to see and possibly go home with you that day. The pet descriptions are deceiving on the site. From the minute you walk in the door they are rude and say anything they possibly can to encourage you to change your mind about adopting. They give you every negative reason possible to not even want to see the animal you came in for. Then when you say that's ok I still want to see the animal.
They say well unless you are going to commit to wanting it you really can't just see him because he could scratch you and then he would need to be quarantined for 10 days! They have people driving there excited to adopt only to be talked out of it and pushed out the door! Both Dedham and Boston locations were misleading on their websites and very unprofessional. No wonder there are animals sitting in their cages there!
When we got to the Dedham location we were told we could not adopt one without the other, because they are a bonded pair. That was not forthcoming on the site. The list goes on. We felt as though we were in the twilight zone. Terrible experience today! Ugh!
