Animal Adoption
We Care Animal Rescue offers adoption services for cats, dogs, and small companion animals. Our no-appointment-needed process allows visitors to meet animals Wednesday through Sunday. We provide detailed information about each animal's personality and care needs to ensure successful matches. Special adoption programs include senior pet discounts and military adoption fee waivers.
Medical Assistance
Our medical programs assist St. Helena residents with spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping at reduced fees. We offer emergency grants for families facing financial hardship and provide ongoing care for animals with chronic medical conditions. Our shelter staff administers medications and specialized diets for long-term residents.
Community Education
We provide educational programming about responsible pet care through shelter tours and community presentations. Our team offers guidance on cat behavior, feral cat care, and lost pet recovery. School programs teach children about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership through hands-on learning experiences.
Food Distribution
Our food assistance program provides dry and wet pet food to Napa County residents facing financial difficulties. We prioritize support for senior citizens and distribute supplies to feral cat caregivers. This service helps prevent pet surrenders by ensuring families can afford to care for their animals.
Volunteer Programs
We offer volunteer opportunities for individuals to work directly with shelter animals through enrichment activities and socialization. Volunteers also assist with events, foster care, and off-site outreach programs. Regular volunteer orientations help new participants understand our shelter operations and animal care protocols.
