Starved Rock Kennel Club Inc. (SRKC) was founded in 1966 in Ottawa, Illinois at the juncture of the Fox and Illinois Rivers, by a dedicated group of dog owners. SRKC held its first fun match in 1967 and its first dog show and obedience trial in 1974. Ottawa, a community rich in its Native American, Civil War, Lincoln and Industrial histories, is portrayed in the series of murals through the community
