D'tails Dog Salon, located in North West Portland's Alphabet District, is a one-on-one dog salon and home to a multiple award-winning dog groomer who specializes in pets under 25lbs. Grooming is provided in a calm, quiet and loving environment where cages are not required. Pets are groomed by appointment only, to ensure that they are the only pet in the salon and are returned to you as soon as possible.

Pets are not housed in kennels waiting their turn. Average grooming time is one hour and fifteen minutes.

When accepted, I will only accept new pets who are matt-free or if matted agree to be shaved short, who are well behaved, accustomed to the grooming process and who are groomed every 8 weeks or less. I am unable to accept returning clients who have not been groomed by me in 2022, pets who have extreme anxiety, fear based aggression or those who object to grooming. If you are unsure how your pet may behave for grooming, I offer Meet and Treats on Sundays. These are on a first come, first served, on-call basis.

Home nail trimming and between grooming brush outs are essential for your pets continued comfort. Both can be done at home. The best and easiest way to keep nails short is to walk. Get out and walk your dog on pavement. That wears the nails down on most dogs very well. Using a human nail file is another less invasive option.

A full groom includes a hand bathing method using a foamed shampoo followed by a deep cleaning, massaging, oxygenated bath. Ear cleaning and glands are done by request and only if permitted and may incur additional charges. All pets must be people friendly and tolerant of the grooming process. There will be additional charges for aggressive or uncooperative dogs if they are not sent home.
