Your Trusted Animal Rescue & Adoption Center in Roseville
Placer SPCA has dedicated over five decades to enhancing the lives of companion animals and strengthening the human-animal bond. Founded in 1973, our organization provides comprehensive animal welfare services including adoption programs, spay/neuter clinics, emergency financial assistance, and behavioral support. We operate three primary facilities in Placer County, offering intake services, adoption centers, and community resource hubs. Our team of veterinary professionals and trained staff conduct over 4,000 animal intakes annually while maintaining rigorous health and behavioral assessment protocols.

Through initiatives like the SOS Program and SNAP spay/neuter assistance, we help local residents maintain pet ownership during financial hardship. Our educational outreach includes free behavior helplines, vaccination clinics, and community engagement programs. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on donations and partnerships to sustain operations, maintaining strict privacy protections for donors and clients. Our mobile event team extends services to underserved areas, and our thrift store supports ongoing operations through community contributions.

They had puppies, adult dogs, kittens, adult cats and other adoptable pets. However, if you want to meet any of the potential pets, you need to make an appointment to do so. You're there to look through the window to pick one to meet. The price has gone up for adoption as well. Be prepared.

POTENTIAL SCAM WARNING when you schedule for shots or micro chipping, they do NOT inform you BEFORE taking your $$$ that it is non-refundable. So if you have to cancel or reschedule, you are out $$$. It's only in the email, which is the last question they ask. Great business practice, I'm going someplace else!

Although I didn't find a dog, I love this SPCA! It's very clean, no smell, and everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. I adopted my cat from there, and she's wonderful!
