Carefree Kennels

The idea to open a boarding kennel sprang from the old adage of "building a better mouse trap". Many years of coming home from vacation on a Sunday and being unable to pick up my own dogs, made me say too many times, "If I had a kennel, this is what I would do.". With the help and many talents of friends and neighbors, the Summer of 1994 saw an 18 run boarding kennel rise where the horse pasture met the woods.

Aprill 14, 2012: The kennel was shut down for two weeks and all fencing was removed for repairs. The block walls were all cleaned, deglazed and repainted. A lot more is being done this summer and we'll keep you updated!. Our long time boarders (6 months) Sigi and Sushi were flown to Germany to finally be with their mom.

We are a dog and cat boarding kennel. We also accept other small pets for boarding. The runs are cleaned twice daily and bedding and toys are washed if the pet has soiled them. We have no limits on toys and crates that you can bring for your pet. We encourage you to bring anything that makes you feel better about leaving your pet.

We encourage you to bring anything to make your pet feel more at home. Blankets, toys, crate, bed and their favorite treats, of course. Since we cannot keep a constant watch over your pet, we will decline any rawhide treats. We provide Bil-Jac dog food or a dry kibble for our customers, but we prefer you bring your own food so they don't get upset stomachs from a food change.
