Pets In Need As a 501(c) 3 non-profit animal shelter, we transfer in dogs and cats from public shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations. We then provide them with the best possible care and enrichment until we can help them find their forever homes. As a non-profit organization, everything we do is made possible through donations of funds, supplies, and time from members of the community. There are many ways to support Pets In Need, including fostering, volunteering and donating cash or in-kind gifts that help us carry out our life-saving mission.

About us
Report
Our mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes, to partner with communities striving to do the same, and to advance our no-kill legacy. We accomplish our mission by transferring cats and dogs to our facilities from public shelters in the Bay Area and beyond when they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations.
Our story
Report
Lost Animal Registry incorporated as a 501 (c) 3 animal shelter under the name of "Pets In Need". Services expanded to include financial assistance to pet owners interested in spaying/neutering their pets, adoptions, boarding of homeless pets, and emergency veterinary care. Pets In Need moved to Whipple Avenue in Redwood City and opened a small animal rescue shelter. The Crockett Memorial Fund was established by board member Pat Sinclair to assist low income seniors with the cost of animal care for their pets.

Canine Training
Report
Pets In Need believes in the importance of dog training to help develop and grow the bond between a dog and a family. A well-behaved dog makes for a happier home and will give you peace of mind when you bring your canine companion around friends, family, and children. Below is a list of recommended group training classes around the Bay Area that support and utilize positive reinforcement training methods. These classes offer puppy socialization, basic obedience training for juvenile and adult dogs, and specialty training.
